On Saturday Wolves will welcome Manchester United to Molineux for the final game of 2022.
Wolves go into the game on the back of an away win at Everton whilst United recorded a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are currently without star central defender Lisandro Martinez who is sidelined through injury. As a result their back line will be a makeshift affair which can only be an advantage for Wolves although it didn’t seem to help Forest much.
Wolves’ win at Goodison Park was the second successive competitive win for new manager Julen Lopetegui having previously beaten Gillingham in the Carabao Cup. Although it could be argued that neither win showed a huge difference in Wolves’ playing style, the Wolves faithful can start to believe that that the green shoots of a new era under Lopetegui are starting to show.
Depending on other results, a win for Wolves could see escape from the relegation zone to the lofty heights of 14th but that is probably getting a bit ahead of myself. Let’s hope for at least a point and a continued progression in the right direction.
The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 1

And Villa beat Spurs in their own back yard today. Results not going our way just now.

Interesting to see if Cunha starts on Wednesday, and when we get more reinforcements through the door

Cunha has to start surely. He is fit and ready so see no reason why we should wait. My fear is we just plug him in on the left or right and not central. If that happens then it will just be a case of rinse and repeat I fear.

With Cunha not officially a Wolves player until today I would have thought he would not have been able to train with the squad. Will 2 days of training be enough for him to start on Wednesday? I would have thought not.
More likely to come off the bench, maybe at half time depending upon the score at the time.

yeah you may be right, no idea on the rules for that. He was sat in the dug out yesterday wasn't he? Next to Costa after he came off.

Don’t think there was anything to stop Cunha training with the squad before 1st Jan although he couldn’t play or be on the payroll until then. Hope we’re safe to assume he has a work permit

As Gem has stated on another thread, and has been ignored, we need to shift some deadwood before we can bring in anymore “reinforcements” surely?
We have a massive payroll of mediocrity stinking up the place, a reminder of previous failures in the transfer market.
In the last three years we’ve wasted millions! Presumably we are still paying Sasa, Neto, Chiquinho etc for contributing jack shat?
Our transfer business has been a complete shambles recently. Where is that clown Amiga when you need a cat to kick?

Assumed Cunha wouldn't be allowed to train because: had he broken both legs in training that might have put a strain on his contract. I suspect we would have signed him anyway.

He wouldn’t have trained as the clubs insurance wouldn’t have covered him.
