Martínez is a miss but Varane and Maguire would be fine. I expect a tight and low-scoring game - neither side scores many.
1-0 to United
Can’t say I had any expectation of a change of style and pattern from the new manager until we have signed new players, in particular goalscorers. What has changed is that we have won twice in a week when previously we had won twice in four months. So that’s a change he’s brought about that I quite like.
Proper 6 pointer this, I’m going 1-1
Have been having a think about what JL has changed this far, the only thing I think is that we're more compact, Costa came played quite deep most of the time at goodison and didn't have to look far for an out ball. Then we moved forward more as a team rather than having the forwards trying to stretch and get on the end of longer passes. Must say though that going forward it didn't work that well until he made the subs with Hwang and Costa pretty anonymous for most of the game.
I agree with StrikeMug.
Proper six pointer this one, with all six going to Wolves in a bad tempered 1-0 win. 👍
Interestingly, using StrikeMugs thought process, if we did win the six points would move us into the top half of the table.
Is he the smartest person you know? Or is a ?
You decide.
In the two games we played in Marbella it was clear one message Lopetegui wanted to get across to the players was to pass the ball quicker and keep the game moving. I think most can recognise that under Bruno we played too slow and allowed the opposition to get themselves organised before we attacked the penalty area.
One thing that hasn’t changed and won’t change until new players arrive is that it’s very difficult to play attacking football without effective strikers. We’ve gone two years without any and, along with the quality of coaches we’ve had, that’s the biggest reason we went from European challengers to bottom of the table

Surely the signing of Cunha addresses that though?
Hopefully it does, but he won’t be eligible for the Utd game
Hadn’t realised that Hugo Bueno has an identical twin who plays left back for Borussia Dortmund
Chunha has no goals in sixteen appearances so far this season. Prolific he ain’t.

Easy decision as the most points Wolves can win is three. Thus rendering Strikemug as a dunce.

Wolves can win 3 and United can win 3 - 3+3 = 6
I'm not sure signing a player who, in the previous 106 games for his last two clubs has only produced 16 goals is going to have much of an impact. For all those who like stats, that equates to roughly 7 goals a season for us in the league. I hope we haven't made another bad choice like we did with Guedes.

So, the most points Wolves can win is three. Thanks for confirming.
Cunha has been largely on the bench for Athletico this season, kept out of the team by the likes of Griezeman and Joao Felix. For Brazil U23s he has scored 21 in 24 games so knows where the net is
Fabio scored 6 in 10 for Portugal U21, so all players know where the net is. It's whether they can find it, playing at a higher level.
My other point is, why are we getting a player who is being kept out of a side with better players in his position?
Guedes scored 11 goals last season for Valencia, so what's gone wrong with him?
The fact of the matter is, no matter who we bring in, they just don't score goals and that has to be the way we've been set up over the past two seasons.
In 2019/20 Jimenez was on fire, scoring over 20 goals. We were playing with a back 3 most of the time and we also had a much tighter defence.
I read on here from all the wise ones, how switching to 4 at the back would make us a better attacking force. well, that ain't happened. In fact we've gone backwards in my opinion.

You are not actually suggesting that going to a back four is the reason we are not scoring goals right? We have not been a prolific scoring side since we came back to the prem in truth and certainly a safety first side but we did have a fit and healthy Jimenez and at times a consistent Jota that made a huge difference.
Look at the last couple of seasons now, our CF option has been a much diminished Jimenez, a far less mobile Costa, A far less mobile Willian Jose and an immediately injured Kalajdzic.
What Cunha will bring is proper mobility up front.
No I'm not. On the contrary and I'm not sure if you were one of them, but posters on here were clearly of the belief that going with a back 4 would help us in the goal scoring dept. Well, that hasn't happened, for sure. Plus how many strikers have we tried, 'cos none of 'em have worked? So what makes you think that this latest one will do any better?
Also, what is "proper mobility" cinci?
I think it takes moaning to a whole new level to criticise and doubt a player before he’s made his debut. Rank stupidity
Proper mobility would be a player that to quote super Mick can put a shift in rather than lethargic sauntering
Is it a finishing issue or a creative issue or both?
It’s neither.
We don’t miss many chances because we don’t have strikers that often get into scoring positions.
It’s not a creative issue because how can you create a chance when there’s rarely anybody in a scoring position
