Team News
Leeds United
Patrick Bamford is back in training and will be in the squad,
Luis [Sinisterra] is getting closer and closer but isn’t quite ready.
Crysencio Summerville is out for a month, probably.
The ankle injury and tackle he sustained in the Cardiff match is a little bit of a talking point for me.
Georginio Rutter is out of bed but deal not finalised yet
Aston Villa
Villa will be without John McGinn and Ludwig Augustinsson against Leeds, while Matty Cash is a major doubt to miss out with a groin injury.
Leander Dendoncker will miss Friday’s encounter with Leeds due to his red card in the FA Cup. The Belgian will serve a one-match suspension. Diego Carlos and Jed Steer, meanwhile, are hopeful of returns next month.

Match Stats
Villa Leeds
10 Wins 8
28 Goals 25
14 Clean Sheets 11
Head to Head
Aston Villa are unbeaten in their past four Premier League games against Leeds United (W2 D2), keeping three clean sheets in this run.
Leeds have lost just one of their past six Premier League away games against Aston Villa (W3 D2), going down 2-0 in February 2004.
Villa scored seven goals in 11 league matches under Steven Gerrard this season, at an average of 0.6 per game. Since his departure, the Villans are averaging 1.9 goals per game in the Premier League (13 in seven matches).
Rodrigo has scored 40% of Leeds' league goals so far this season (10/25), with only Erling Haaland (47%) and Harry Kane (41%) netting a higher share for their side.
Another challenging away game hot on the heels of a pretty poor Cup performance and with Villa looking to put the defeat by Stevenage behind them they are not going to be easy It's looking increasingly like a 1-2 Scoreline with Rodders getting a brace (if Paddy gets 5mins it could be 1-3 )

Cheers guys. Cardiff next but tonight makes Brentford a must win game.
Not our night tonight. Some poor defending but Villa only had one shot first half. Second half we pushed and pushed and inevitably left gaps at the back.
Unlucky we didn’t score and had good shouts for at least one penalty. The one on Gnonto was blatant yet waved away.
Great to see Bamford back scoring but I would have taken Aaronson off and left Harrison on.
A very disjointed last ten minutes but I put that down to all the attacking subs. We just never got going after Bamford scored.
On to Cardiff.

If we sign Rutter then I'm sure Aeronson will make way and if we also sign this Moroccan midfielder too who I think would replace Rocca then with Wober hopefully calming things down at the back, we should be more than alright and creep away from the bottom half dozen clubs.

We play brilliantly, we just aren't clinical. Our disallowed goal was unlucky.

Yes I wouldn't be surprised if we don't play as well as we did tonight offensively against Brentford but end up winning. That's the way it goes sometimes

Not essential, but they could do with a left-back about 18 to 20 years old because apart from Firpo they do not have a specialist left-back at the club. For too long have they relied upon having players playing one more than one position? If they keep Firpo they are two left-backs short.

i thought it was an awful game all round, or just me? lacking any real quality, just racing around like an under 10's game

We miss a Pablo. Someone with genuine quality and nouse on the ball in the final third, not just fit youngsters running around a lot.
Note how useful Moreno was for Villa. Real Betis left back, probably the guy they replaced Firpo with. Why we not all over him? Or are we contempt with playing a centre back there .....

We do miss Pablo. But, we have a different type
of dangerous now in Gnonto. That kid is (and we
all see it), the definition of a game changer.

Just you I think. It was a far better game to watch than the Manchester derby - especially the first 65mins.
Attacking wise we look a threat but we are just tactically naïve. How many times will we concede goals when we are on the front foot?

Hi Leeds fans, to be honest I thought we were very lucky to win on Friday and if I was a Leeds fan I'd be justifiably annoyed with that loss. We were very poor in the first half and very lucky not to concede although the second half was more even. Gnonto look a real talent and caused us all sorts of problems, wha a signing that was by Leeds and I'm annoyed we can't scout these players as they are out there. I think you'll do very well to hang on to him but will no doubt make a huge profit on him.
We never seem to match up well against your lot so I'll take the win all day long, since we've changed manager our form has been top 4 standard so hopefully we can keep it going and give ourselves something to pay for at the end of the season. Top 7 is unlikely but you never know.
I know our clubs don't particularly like each other and it does annoy me how we always seem to get injuries after playing Leeds (you're certainly a bigger and more physical team than we are) but you played really well on Friday and are certainly better than the likes of Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth so should be fine, but it's pretty cr*p being in a relegation scrap as we know all too well ourselves.
