As crazy as it sounds, this is the first time I have been excited about utd signing a striker since we signed martial. This is mostly because I always felt that we did not have the foundations in place for a striker to thrive.

That is until ET renewed my optimism. Any1 else making this signing would have made me furious.

I wouldn’t say I’m excited but all of our striker signings since RVP have had their flaws.

While Weghorst certainly isn’t as big of a name as most of those I’m hopeful he’s a better fit.

I have a feeling he will be starting ahead of Martial upfront unless ETH decides to push Rashford forward. Martial has been poor for the last three seasons now, and doesn't look like he is improving.

A player like Rashford up front against the better teams who will play a high line, and a more traditional number 9 like Weghorst for everybody else, is along the lines of what ETH used to do at Ajax
