We’ll definitely be after a keeper, but the level of that keeper will depend on our finances. De Gea still lacks the qualities needed for us to play out from the back to a high level and to play a high line.

Hopefully with new owners we can have a big old clear out and bring in some top players for the positions I mentioned, plus a cb and dm to cover for Varane and Casemiro.

Plus let’s be honest, De Gea’s not even stopping shots like he used to so that needs upgrading anyway.

That's what worries me.

I still don't think De Gea's command of his area, distribution and choice of pass are of the required level for a more ball dominant side.

I think his sweeping is something that has improved slightly but again it's still not good enough.

He just has such a negative impact on the team nowadays. He’s one of my favourite ever United players, but he really shouldn’t be first choice anymore.

I read some stats yesterday that states he still scores quite low on all of those things even though he has improved. I like DDG but I think EtH would replace him if he could.

If we're able to replace De Gea and improve other areas of the team as well then happy days. But the areas that we need most; a top CF and CM, are two of the most expensive positions on the pitch to address (usually).

It would be great if we could pluck someone out of nowhere, or if De Jong became viable this summer.

An upgrade on Eriksen would be great because it then frees him up to go and compete a little further forward with Bruno. And I don't know who the standout candidates for the CF position would be either. Kane & Osimhen are the standout names on paper but would command mega money and are probably off limits. You'd think we could find a RB and CB cover at a more reasonable price point, and I imagine Maguire will be off, which should command a decent fee.

But I’d argue a top keeper is an even bigger need than a cm and cf. De Gea has become an average keeper that negatively impacts the team more than any player in the team.

Let’s so who buys the club anyway. We could spend a ridiculous amount and have the huge overhaul of the squad that we’ve needed for ages.

I think it’s a confidence thing with Antony. As mentioned above, he has two on him a lot of the time.

Casemiro said Antony is the person he wants most on his team in training, so I’m gonna hold out hope the guy does a Vidic/Evra and excels after a shaky start.

Ten Hag may be requesting Antony curtails his flamboyance; hopefully it's only until we get a truly solid unit.
