I’m gonna fess up. I started calling for Poch sacking when we had that terrible run after the CL final. And I don’t mind admitting I was wrong.
We were one of the best sides in the country, maybe even the best for a couple of years. But the players didn’t know how to get over the line in certain games. The notion that Poch isn’t a “winning manager" is rubbish in my opinion, I believe the players let him down in not winning something, anything, in that period.
After the bitter disappointment of the CL final, he was visibly hurting. And he was calling for ENIC to show some balls, he even said we need to be brave. We all know what he meant.
That season he was broken and it transmitted to the players. He knew the board wouldn’t let him finish the job, 2 whole years no signings when we were almost there!!
I personally would love to see him properly backed and able to finish what he started. He improved so many players, who’s to say he couldn’t make Sess and Emerson top class like he did Rose, walker and Trippier? Look at Dele Ali, literallly dog poo once Poch went
Love to see some opinions. I don’t think I’m just looking throughl rose tinted specs, but it’s possible
Let Poch finish what he started

If you were in Poch's shoes would you take it?
The emotional pull might get him but if he's thinking rationally he wouldn't want it.
A squad already in tatters about to lose their talisman that won't get near the investment of their perceived rivals.
I really hope i'm wrong but it looks like Newcastle will take over from Spurs as the 6th team of the big 6 and Spurs will be in the next pack unless something changes fast.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We knew that Newcastle would be a threat to the top teams as soon as the new owners bought them. What's happening with them in the league just seems like it's come a year or 2 early.
The one thing we have to hope with Spurs is that we at least keep it a big 7, even if we are already the one big team that never wins anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That sounds fun ! Does that mean Levy will cut ticket prices ?

If Kane goes and Levy stays then we will be lucky to consistently finish top 7 in my opinion. We will have seasons where the likes of Villa, Leicester, West Ham, Brighton finish above us
---------------------------------------------------------------------
West Ham will be in the Championship, so very unlikely.

We can survive and rebuild after Kane to come close to challenging again. Obviously we look far off it right now but in the space of 10 years we had 2 teams that were very good and came relatively close to silverware. The one with Bale, Modric, VDV etc.. and the one with Kane, Toby, Dembele etc.. Both required that extra push that they never received from Levy, so there's is no reason we can't produce another good team again. All about whether we get that extra push to win something but with Levy still around it's doubtful.

Why would he cut ticket prices, when he sells out every game?
Spurs are not a charity.

Conte 2 year project. Give him the money and a defence.
Long term managers are fairy tail stories.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The most succesfull teams of recent years:
City - long term manager, been there 7 years
Liverpool - long term manager, been there 8 years arsenal
Out of interest, which of those are fairytales?
You want to (in your own words) 'give conte money' for 'two years'?! So what happens at the end of those two years? We've spuffed £200m on players the next two year manager doesn't want?
We aren't chelsea. Our best period in the last 20 years came from a project manager.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends if Conte falls out with the club. Circumstances have been different everytime he had left.

OP
Also the title of your article is let Poch finish what he started. He was there for five years, he should have finished it first time around. How much longer does he want? If he couldn`t finish it in five years, then he aint finishing it now.

I don't think anyone doubts Contes credentials it's just he looks not very interested, frustrated or both. Him and Levy are like water and oil but what gets me is Levy must've know Conte rebuilds teams spending $
At the same time Conte must've known Levys rep too. If conte hadn't been backed as he expected he would've walked by now, as he has previously, but he hasn't.
Maybe Conte is just bored of telling the same players to do what he wants. Knowing he has to wait til the summer to change things. Tbf that'd frustrate me too.
It's not like he has many fringe players he can sell to generate decent $
