Don't think if was Viduka as Celtic would have had a similar deal. Not sure, thinking could it have been Yeboah as he had dodgy tax dealings in Germany?

Alot of companies do it for buying assets

One thing that should be noted here is Tevez played for West Ham 2006-2007, so if it had happened before, it might suggest that it was before 2006.
