anyone know the origins of the 606 bit?

I knew it came from BBC 606 forum, but why 606 specifically anyone know?

It is because BBC Radio 5 used to broadcast on the 606 and 909 metre wavelengths. When the original service was terminated a good soul resurrected it as Just Another 606.

from memory - and yes, i am this sad - it was 909 and 693
