Contrary to popular (mistaken) belief...

Subs wasn't the catalyst in the Everton comeback.

The subs made sense for the moment and situation in the game, didn't quite workout to the extent that it was intended to in practice. It happens. (I'd argue result would have been worse had the side remain unchanged or even with a winger that struggles to keep hold of possession).

The reasoning for those subs were perfectly logical and simple...Everton looked increasingly dangerous from set-pieces as is always the case against Dyche teams, see his previous Burnley sides as a prominent reminder (Fofana would have stayed on the pitch, if he wasn't feeling his hammies).

The aim of the subs was to retain possession win fouls (Lofty, Chuk good at this), press higher (Pulisic & Felix faded, as per usual) and add more height for longballs & set-pieces...which the team was struggling with, unable to properly defend set-pieces all season.
Kepa in goal...Coincidence? Certainly not. Large part of the problem why we are the 3rd worst team at defending dead ball situations...no command of his area at the best or worst of times - https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1637215468434911239/pu/vid/1352x720/V3JgdNFbqfcvrQaQ.mp4?tag=12
No sane objective rational thinker should be content with Kepa between the sticks going into next season (plenty are).

Having seen the video you posted, I would only say one maybe two of those were his fault.

That's not to say Kepa is good enough for an elite team, but I think he's far from the priority when it comes to fixing us.

"Kepa is not the ideal starting keeper for us but he wasn't at fault for the late goal"

Big to differ...
Firstly Kepa needlessly gave the ball away -

Look at the options he had in front, choose neither of them. Instead opting for a hopeless punt forward..relinquishing possession there is what ultimately led to the equaliser.

Secondly, the equaliser was a tame effort which somehow slipped underneath his arms.

I disagree, from where I was standing (MHL block 15) behind snd too his left, short kicking the ball into play he chose the right option. Everton players were swiftly closing down both options. He gave us time to re group, we didn't take it.

I do not claim Kepa is the answer either nor do I believe Mendy is. Neither are good enough for us long term but either will have to do in the short term.

I'll never be one that catagorises Mendy and Kepa together.
Mendy at his worst, is Kepa at his best. Latter doesn't have any overriding attributes.

Kepa is an unmitigated disaster of a signing, all things considered...which Mendy isn't.
Mendy has shown a level of distinction im his first season, which Kepa has been nowhere near close to reaching.

Your choice. I see them both as pretty good shot stoppers but question their distribution and decision making at times.

Hmm. Think both are pretty average at everything tbh. Where shot stopping goes Kepa has weak wrists, and Mendy's tendency to save with both hands limits his reach - which is a shame cos he's got size.

The main thing Mendy has over Kepa (besides wages & price of both) is credit in the bank, cos at the end of the day he delivered when it mattered in that CL winning run. In a perfect world I'd keep him as #2 as I trust him marginally more.

Mendy is off. He rejected a new deal and he won't sit on the bench when he can play regularly probably for a CL level side.

Kepa is pretty mediocre but he is harder to get rid of than you think so will likely be here next seaspn

Kepa's contract runs out next season right? 2018 & I think it was a six year deal?

2025 - It was a seven year deal
