Who are the selfish players?

Had to laugh when I heard Conte had been called into the board to clarify his comments. What is he meant to say? "Yeah, no I didn't mean we've only won 1 trophy in 20 years, I meant that we have had quite a few top 4 finishes in that time."

I did have a pair but the sole fell off one.

I never did understand that bit about "selfish players".
I think Conte got his English wrong there, and meant something else.
Strikers are often selfish near the box, choosing to shoot instead of pass.
Maybe he was talking about poor passes, ......
Can't fault Richarlison, he came off after 5 minutes.
Maybe Kane or Son.
Otherwise I choose to ignore that reported part of Conte's rant as just being incorrect reporting.

I think selfish in defence also not just attack. Players not caring about the sloppy passes they give team mates. Shuffling carp to other players.

Romero, Hojbjerg, Dier and Lenglet do this alot.

Re: defence I would read selfish as more about players playing it too safe, pointless sideway passes, o risk, not prepared to put their rep on the line.

I don't think a defender can defend selfishly other than just taking the simple option every time which doesn't benefit the team. Same for the midfield too. Can't say that as a team we don't work hard or are lazy, but we are soooo safe in possession it's handicapping us.

That said, a player has to feel confident to take a risk and may be Conte is not instilling confidence

Yes, but did he mean "selfish"? He says he does not see a team. SO he means he sees individuals, players not playing together.....so maybe its another word he should be using, not selfishness.
I watched that Southampton match...I didn't see selfishness, except perhaps from Kane. I saw very stupid "defense in depth" when 1-3 up, which was just stupid. He could have said "stupid players", that was true.
I feel for Conte. I think he was sold a bunch of bullockshit promises by Levy.
