Scanning receipts in Sainsburys

I had to scan my receipt in Sainsburys just to leave the store.
I had never seen this before and I use the store in question quite a lot.

Was quite surprised that I had to do this and thought that the store must had had a lot of theft as the area its in is a bit dodgy

It turns out that this is not the only Sainsburys that is taking this route
If that is the case they will lose my custom.

I know its only scanning a receipt but its the principle

Here we go again. This is woke culture in full effect. No doubt a load of people will complain about it.

In the US Walmart are having to put up prices because there is so much shoplifting going on. So you want more people to go hungry just because you can't be bothered to let someone scan a receipt on your way out, even though it's not collecting any data on you or doing anything other than proving you purchased the goods.

their trying too cancel are receipt scanning stop the world i want of
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some are trying to cancel Sainsbury's for having the audacity to try to prevent shoplifting, boycotts are ongoing

No doubt Lineker will be along soon to give us some thought leadership on the matter - people should be allowed to shoplift, this is like 1930s Germany etc.

Who needs Lineker.
We have TopForm to let us know. Why even worry about it. I'd say the losses don't even make up 0.000000000000006% of their net profit.

I'm all for shoplifting now I've read how much supermarkets charge for diesel.

Costs the same as petrol wholesale, 17p a litre dearer than petrol though when those parasites add their markup.

Grocers and convenience stores have an average shrinkage rate of 2%, with UK grocers alone reporting a cost of £4.4bn a year. (2020)

Was in Morrisons the other week...went through the checkout and towards the door...on my right and almost out of the store were beers at low offer prices

Took two boxes to the tobacco & lottery ticket sales desk...she says im sorry I can't take for those here, you'll need to go back in store and through another check out

She had no reasoning for this whatsoever...after I asked why...so I dumped them on the floor and left them

I then heard her say to the guy in the queue....loads of people do that...

no fackin shat they do

That would never happen in Scotland.

We're not allowed low offer prices any more
