FSG

Just seen this article in The Telegraph basically saying we are no longer interested in Bellingham. This is after writing a season off as we had two chances to strengthen the midfield but declined to do so. I thought it was because we wanted to save the money for Bellingham but looks like FSG are penny pinching yet again. Time for them to either spend or sell the club. At this rate, we will attract only the likes of Ward-Prowse with no chance of getting back in the CL.

Disgraceful owmership by FSG to allow this to happen. Klopp also needs to take some of the blame. He should have been banging FSG's door down, demanding proper amounts of money be spent on the squad.

We'll be back to signing utter dross like Fraud-Prowse and Nunes whilst ambitious clubs like City and PSG go and sign world class talent like Gvardiol, Skrinar and Bellingham.

Hope all of you FSGIN fans out there are happy with this!

We are being too generous towards FSG because we have been successful. However, they bought the club for £300m, then sold a 10% stake for more than that, therefore, recouping all their investment. On top of that all purchases have been funded by sales Coutinho, Suarez, Sterling, Solanke, Brewster etc. We need reinforcements in midfield and defence but they don’t want to spend a dime. They have also constrained the club by using the short term funding loans/overdraft for players on the new training ground and new stand. They should have just loaned us the money or take a long term debenture (but this would have reduced the value of the club on sale). Basically, these guys have bought an asset for £300m, recouped all of it by selling a 10% stake and now are sitting on a £3bn asset. Yet, a lot of our fans can’t see this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The bargain basement price FSG obtained the club is often overlooked when analysing FSG. The bottom line for me is they need to support the clubs world class manager financially in the summer if they won't they should sell and the fans should be up in arms. They've done a lot of positive things, and the biggest thing by far was getting Klopp. If they baulk at financially supporting him properly when the squad needs major surgery, he should walk.He deserves better after all he has achieved , especially when you factor in what the competition are spending.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It also ignores the reason that the club was a bargain. The previous owners nearly bankrupted the club and almost had them in administration. The current owners have built up the value of the club and delivered the most successful 10 year period since the 80s.

A lot of temper tantrums on here from people who want fantasy football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope just fans who want to see the success we've enjoyed last more than 4 years. FSG have done their bit, they now need to step aside for ambitious owners who'll spend properly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ambitious owners who will spend properly is just code for oligarch or Saudi country that will spend fantasy football because you can't stand one bad season.

Personally, I'd rather have a club that sits 8th and occasionally challenges, but exists comfortably into the future with owners that aren't human-rights abusing despots.

That Kool Aid taste good?

Proving my point. Top job

One bad season 🤣 What about 20-21? Top of the League but desperate for Centre Backs and FSG sanction Kabak and Davies because they didn't want to put their hands into their own pockets. We lost 6 games ln the bounce because of their ineptitude. Imagine Boehly/City/PSG/United doing that.

They've had their run as owners. They now need to do the honourable thing and sell up to proper owners. Football has moved on now. This isn't the 80s and 90s. To compete, year on year, you need owners who will put serious money into the playing squad each year, not build fancy stands and training grounds.

If you're happy just to make up the numbers then are you actually a Liverpool fan? Football is all about success and trophies. As Shanks said "If you are second, you are nothing."
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You mean the 2020-21 season where we finished third? As good as, or better than about 17 of the 20 seasons before FSG took over.

Imagine Boehly doing what? Boehly has taken Chelsea to the bottom half of the table and sacked two managers under his watch. Do you want a manager who sacks Klopp for having us below 6th?

Imagine United doing what? Finishing in third? They have finished third or lower plenty of times over the last decade.

Funny that Shankly quote, isn't it. Because Liverpool have had over 100 seasons in the top flight and have finished first 19 teams. So it seams like being "nothing" is far more common isn't it. Also, being a staunch socialist and man of the people, how do you think Shankly would feel about fans clamouring for human rights abusers and oligarchs to take control of the club?

I know Liverpool fans that were convinced you were getting him, and claimed the Bellingham signing was a done deal.

Think they take the Liverpool Echo as gospel.

Yep the season where we coasting and should have gone on to retain the title but FSG refused to go and buy a quality CB and left us with Rhys Williams, Kabak and Ben Davies. Militao was available and we ignored it as they didn't want to put their hands in their pockets.

Boehly: Knew Chelsea needed reinforcements and has funded a complete squad overhaul. Yes, the haven't gelled yet but they will. If Klopp isn't pulling his weight, then he should certainly be sacked. His management had been nothing short of atrocious this season but I do think he should get the summer to turn things round. If we don't start well next season (17-20 points from first 8 games) then I'd get rid.

United: Recognised they needed a quality midfielder in January and got Sabitzer. FSG gave us a 1 legged and unfit Arthur.

Due to the squad size we either had to sign an U21 player (Kabak) or a home grown player (Davies).

People like you really shouldn't talk about football. You'll be mentioning NET spend soon.

Such an easy thing to get around. Delist a player who was out for the season (Gomez/VVD) or a player who was out of favour. Sorted.

Are you John Henry's biographer by any chance? You seem unable to let people say anything negative about him and FSG.

Especially when citing United and Boehly as an example to follow. He’ll be cited Moshiri next.
