Is it just me that finds this whole situation a bit strange?
They have come forward and said they have strong evidence that City have been financially cheating for best part of a decade with over 100 charges and yet seemingly they are going to sleepwalk into them potentially winning another league title and maybe even a double or treble?
Can you imagine if world cycling had come out before Lance Armstrong was outed as a drugs cheat saying they had lots of evidence that he was cheating and just let him carry on winning races? No you can't.
Wouldn't happen in Athletics either. Tennis? Can you imagine Novak or Rafa was outed as a cheat and then they just said yeah you can go to Wimbledon or the US open. Carry on as normal chaps.
My understanding of this whole case is the PL want this dealt with immediately and City just keep stalling and stalling and changing the goalposts. They are in no hurry to clear their own name which to me says it all. They know they have been caught out. Anyone who is totally innocent would want to clear their name yesterday never mind months or years later.
Why can't the PL grow some balls and tell them that they either attend a hearing on a certain date or that's that? It's absolutely embarrassing.
And yeah of course as a Utd fan I don't want to see City winning stuff so I'm a bit biased but this whole situation has been an utter farce. Some journalists saying it could be another 2 years before any action is taken. Absolute nonsense. Obviously in this case cheaters do prosper.
I hope Arsenal win it. Be good for football even if their fans are annoying as hell.

It's interesting that this particular subject is getting so much traction from fans of other clubs.
Culer has, on this thread alone, shown himself to be an idiot. He has made comments that you'd expect from a kid of around 10 years old.
Red Russion, as always, has been a voice of reason.
Derby County had two allegations made against them, and that took two years to come to a conclusion.
The allegations made against City will take much longer than that to reach their conclusion.
The OP is, all said and done, a bit of an idiot.
But there is a running narrative throughout threads like these. We all know what that narrative is. That narrative doesn't require justice in a legal sense. That's not what this narrative is all about.
It's quite frankly pathetic.
So, see you all in 2027 (that's around the time that this will reach a verdict).
And if anyone thinks that is something that favours City, then they are truly deluded. For the longer this goes on, the more it damages anything City achieve from now until then.
It is in City's best interests to have this put to bed (one way or the other) as soon as possible.
Afterall, if it were put to bed right now, and City had the worst sanctions put upn them, then by 2027 City would be back in the top flight anyway.
Remember Rangers?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s absolutely not in City’s best interests to get on with this at all. They will drag it out and would be wise to do so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why?
That would only make sense if the outcome is inevitable.
But we all know that that is not the case, despite what you think...

Probably true which is where I don't quite understand why PSG and City at times feel the need to pay over the asking rate.
-----------------------------------------
Why group City in with PSG?
£53m for Haaland and £19m for Alvarez was way over the top.
PSG who are in the 5th rated European league, with attendances that would place them between Newcastle and Villa if they were in the Prem, receive Championship levels of TV money and could only afford to pay £200m for Mbappe because they are totally dependant on sponsorship money which UEFA completely ignores.
City celebrated the 129th anniversary yesterday of changing their name from Ardwick FC to Manchester City F.C.
PSG celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation in 2 years time, anyone who compares the 2 clubs is a clueless idiot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You seriously don't see a link in how both clubs go about business?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not at all, our prize and TV money was nearly £200m last season, we didn't need a huge handout from the owners.
Like I said, only clueless idiots could find a connection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And how did you make it to the top? Masses of money ffs. Don't be an idiot.

Have you deliberately missed Boris' point? It is an obvious one...

We made it to the top by having owners willing to invest, obviously coupled with hiring a top manager and DOF.
Their 'asset' is now worth at least 3x the total they have put in and the club has been self sufficent for the last few years.
You should be more worried about the emails concering Wolves and how they've managed to secure some of the top Portugese talent in recent years without the income generated by CL football.

Sorry but what do I think? You presume too much
The reason I say that is that it works for the lawyers and also City likely will not know for certain how this will go so it’s much better to drag it out for as long as possible. Plus the legal spending power and notable legal representation that they have will have more time to find inconsistencies, errors and holes in the accusations to get the case thrown out; meanwhile they can continue to operate.
This is a legal battle now and that’s a different game to ‘proving your innocence’.

I’m presuming that you think City are guilty.
Am I wrong to presume that?

Not sure exactly what authority the FA or UEFA have to even investigate it properly tbh.
Take this example. City owners other company invests a billion in the Indian billionaires telecoms company in 2020. Few years later his telecoms company signs a deal with city to be their telecom sponsor.
Can the FA or UEFA just walk into all them companies and insist on seeing the exact details, to see whether the price was inflated? How do they even decide if it's just a coincidence someone, who isn't an owner is investing them sums?
Seems a bit silly to think they can trawl through all these companies and documents, and that's knowing even if the city owner said in 2020 the deal was subject to him paying a big sponsorship deal later, they never would have documented this on paper 😂
These are billionaires. Shrewd billionaires and the club's are just toys to them. We all know what's going on but I just don't see how they prove it tbh

I have no idea if City are guilty of what they have been accused. No-one here does.

The story that preceded the link between City and PSG was Haalands transfer and how he reportedly turned down Bayern Munich's 250 million euro's package and a 35m/year gross salary
Obviously the City package is structured differently and I can understand why they offered more to secure the player but I dont think they needed to.
With Pep as the manager I still think Haaland would have joined for the same fees or maybe slightly less. Just a hunch.
