Is Centre Backs.
Honestly speaking if we spend 100m on two top Class CBs with the return of Bentancur and Bissouma we would have at least 10 to 15 more points at this same stage next season.
Top Athletic CBs would let us play a higher line. This means pressing is easier from the front.
We saw how Man U and nearly every team hates being pressed and given little time on the ball. Man U looked lost for most of the second half.
With Dier, Sanchez in our team and to a lesser extent Davies in our team we cannot play a highline and press teams.
I'm hoping we begin to squeeze up more in most games but a long ball one on one with Dier will 90% of the time result in a goal.
2 quality CBs would change our team dramatically. But will we get them?
Even more convinced the main problem ....

It's not just CBs. Also need CMs who can progress the ball quickly and accurately and also press, and forwards who want to press too.
And a coach to work on systems and patterns rather than just "run a bunch and hope the ball breaks favourably"

So I think we’re all agreed, we just need new owners, a new manager and a completely new team.

I’m not writing off Bissouma and Bentancur under a decent manager. Who knows Lo Celso might not be so carp either. Then add Sarr, Hojbjerg and Skipp as back ups. That 6 CMs plus Ndombele the dud.

We shouldn’t waste Levy money on CMs when CBs should be our priority

Levy will definitely cut spending next season and use the excuse that no champs league. Plus 60m on Richarlison will give him nightmares but only because Kane didn’t get injured. If he had we would be moaning that we don’t have a prem proven striker on our books.

Before we go spunking 100m on 2 centrebacks that may or not be of prem league standard, we need to get in the new Manager and see what system he will be playing, although if he plays a back 4 what do we do with the 5 or 6 wingbacks on the books, so getting the manager in early is imperative

I think we have to play back 3. Levy will not release funds for a back 4 formation unless Lenglet and Emerson are full backs. Then we need a top class CB

Irony is 442 actually works for us
Kane Richarlison
Perisic PEH Skipp Porro
Lenglet Dier Romero Emerson
Nothing special but round pegs in round holes

Didn’t Romero and Sanchez cost you the best part of £100m?

No irony there. A lot of the best teams ar e playing 4-4-2.
And I don't care if we line up 1-8-1.
Moment the ball enters our half we're playing 5-4-1 or something like that.
