I don’t usually do reviews/opinions on animated movies but I really need to get the word out on the new Spider-Man movie as I feel it’s a watershed moment in cinema and especially animated cinema.
It’s just *chefs kiss* and very possibly the very best animated movie of all time. Not just in style but also in sheer bold ambition. I’m usually a wordsmith but even I can’t quite do justice to what an experience you’ll have watching it on the big screen. It’s like doing acid while being read pages of the best comic stories by peak Spielberg by way of David Lynch.
Anyway, it’s a sequel but it’s not too important to have seen the first one. Go and enjoy true art and just marvel (no pun intended) at how far animation has come.

The first one was incredible, one of my favourite ever films, and I'm not a spiderman fan. I don't tend to get Marvel films full stop but spiderverse blew my mind. Can't wait to see this one.

It really doesn’t, the hand drawn technical level of Akira is completely different to the digitally made Spiderverse. Nothing about them are comparable.
