I’m totally behind him but I can’t get excited.
Been here before haven’t we?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last time we hired someone like this was Poch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And this will probably end the same way. But probably sooner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember when he took over at Celtic - similar reactions - underwhelming at best. Onlookers who knew him told us how envious and jealous they were with what we were about to experience.

I feel that way now - get ready for a fkin magnificent adventure.

Then again, let's face it. If any club could break Ange, it's Spurs

Far more excited than either of the Jose and Conte appointments. Finally we’ve chosen someone right for us rather than a big name for the sake of it. It’s all about the fit more than anything else. 4 years of utter hell, over. Thank god!!!

No doubt Sandy will find a reason to contradict those of us positive about this appointment. I’m not expecting quick miracles. Next season will still be transitional but as long as there’s an upward trajectory in terms of performance and overall plan then I’m all good. I just don’t want to see the fans get on his back if it starts off a bit rocky.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I often wonder what would have happened if Poch was allowed to ride through the 2019/20 season. We were 14th. Form had been poor for 2 dozen games over 2 seasons but the much awaited investment hadnt had a chance to settle at all.

Which way would have gone? From strength to strength, plateauing, or a slow painful decline?

I indeed used to wonder this.. 14th but 3 pts of 5th. Levy was far too trigger happy. And time has proved testament to that view. But we need to move on as a club. Hopefully Ange with his progressive tactics and fast paced game have us fans enjoying watching Spurs again

Levy will love Ange. He can spot good players for 6m. Something Jose and Conte wouldn't.

Indeed. We could have recovered but in fairness we hadnt showed any signs of doing so. It was a very sad moment t, a real shame. We took many steps forward with him and since then almost as many backwards.

You are right though, we need to look forward and I think we are all quite hopeful(maybe borne out of a bit of despwration) that Big A can have a similar impact to Poch,in bringing some enjoyment and pride back to being a Spurs fan.

Great Post-ecoglou, The more I read about Ange the more I feel Levy has hit the nail on the head with this, obs it could go pear-shaped (this is Spurs), time will tell...
