Well obviously he doesn't because even if they don't own those shares the odds on someone that wealthy not being invested indirectly in United are pretty slim through some form of fund, or a fund invested in that fund, or some derivative of that etc. etc. So they along with all sorts of unsavoury characters are making money off United if they are doing well.

All sorts of people are invested in United because it's a public commercial enterprise and it's irrational to care about who's holding shares in them if they're not preference shares which give them say in the clubs running.
