Spurs with Maddison for £40 million
or
Arsenal with Rice for £105 million.
Spurs for me. Arsenal have had their pants pulled down over Rice, doesn't score, doesn't assist. So what does he actually do for £105 million?
Whose got the better player

Rice for me is truly top player. Nearest thing I’ve seen to Roy Keane. It might be a steep price but when you consider the fact that he’s a seasoned Prem player guaranteed to be a success, it’s still a good buy. When you think players like Anthony at 80m and Pepe at a similar price, Rice is streets ahead of both of them. Expensive but worth it.
Maddison is better value but you can’t say Rice is anything other than a great buy.

LOL he's nothing like Roy Keane. Honestly fridge I wonder if you actually watch football. Keane was a countrymile mile better than Rice will ever be.

Just saw your response and decided to do some digging.
It seems Jamie Carragher, who knows a hell of a lot more about football than me or you, agrees with me...

The problem with you Sandy is that you never, ever look at anything objectively. You're only saying he's nothing like Roy Keane because he's about to move to Arsenal. Put club rivalry aside and actually judge a player on his merits, not the club he's playing for.
You're also judging Rice on his West Ham career which is unfair. By that rationale, you should judge Keane on his Forest period only, because the glamour of the trophies he earned at United are clouding your judgement. Give Rice a chance at a top club and I think he can have a similar effect to Keane at Arsenal.
I stand by it. For me, it's the way he carries the ball. It's really close to those early years with Keane. Anyway, if Carragher agrees with me then I don't really know why I'm trying to convince you. I know I'm right. As do most sensible football fans on here.

Can’t compare Rice and Maddison as completely different players
I’d compare Maddison to Mount and we have definitely got a better signing there although I rate Mount too just rate Maddison more
Rice is an absolute top signing for Arsenal and don’t mind admitting I’m jealous …..have always thought he just needs that big move for him to finally become a consistent dominant midfielder ….he is very classy player who has been carrying West Ham
I think the Keane comparisons are spot on

100%. I think most people on here would share that opinion. It's only really Sandy that says no because he can't bear the idea of a rival actually signing a top player. I don't really care about Arsenal right now. They're battling for different things to us. I couldn't give a damn. I'm more focused on where we're heading rather than glancing enviously at others.

I can be as objectiveas anyone but as a supporter that saw Keane play for Forest, he was superb even for them. I saw him completely destroyTottenham in a semi final whilst playing for Forest.
So please don`t lecture me on objectivity. Keane was a top, top player. Rice is nowhere near the level ofForest Keane or Man United Kean, he may well turn out to be, but certainly not right now. He is the product of the overhype that is so prevalent in modern day football. I remember when Sancho apparently was the must have player, and look how that turned out.

I really don`t give two figs what Arsenal do. One season back in the big time, and you are hyping them up as the best club since sliced bread. They are no better nor no worse than Spurs. One good season in several don`t make then a super duper team.
They are battling for the same things as Spurs this coming season, top four, FA Cup and League Cup. They are making up the numbers in the CL.

No reason why we can't go deep into the CL no one foresaw both Milan teams getting to the semi finals. I expect us to be challenging for the league again we've got the quality to go again, just need the depth which hopefully will rectified by the time the window closes.

Rice is a DM I wouldn't expect him to be scoring and assisting on a consistent basis. He's there to shield the backline and transition the ball into the creative players who do the assisting and scoring. Besides West Ham hardly play on the front foot he's never had the chance to show how expansive his game can be, he will get that chance at Arsenal.
Maddison's a good player but right now it's just guess work we will see who has the better of it in the fullness of time.

Behave, West Ham fluked that cup.

No way you getting such an easy start to the season as last year. As soon as a bit of pressure came on Arsenal, they folded like a pack if cards. Be battling for a top four finish this season.
