Spurs

I think are going to be a lot less Spursy this season.
The new guy, whose name I'll have to get used to, seems the real deal to me. The fact he hasn't done it in the PL doesn't matter , management skills are transferable imo.

I'm hearing rumours that the appointment of Ange was the last straw for Kane at Spurs. A complete joke of a coach for a Premier League club.

As usual the Spurs mugs are trying to convince themselves he's good and putting a positive spin on it.

Kane is used to working with Jose and Conte, Levy appoints the Australian Sam Allardyce!!

I guess you haven't seen any of his teams play then?

For me, 31 year old Kane can go to United or City or Newcastle if he wants in a year. I would hate to see it, but ultimately we will have had his best years and can move on. Long term he wont be the answer to whatever they are trying to achieve. May be 2 more years at the very top of his game.

I think if we made him available in January for £50m, someone like Real Madrid would snap our hand off, possibly evern Newcastle

I would hope he wouldnt go to CFC or AFC out of respect and will likely have many options so this sort of betrayal would not be necessary.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why pay £50m when they could wait until the Summer and get him for nothing.

An almost 31 year old Kane on a free would still be a a great signing for Chelsea, United or any club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

On a free teams will be competing with every major club in Europe - £500k a week wages, massive signing on fee. It will be Real, PSG, Bayern, United, Chelsea, Newcastle - it will be a mega outlay for whoever gets him even without a transfer fee and the English sides will be fighting against teams that guarantee trophies over a two year period whereas United and Chelsea don’t
----------------------------------------------------------------------

By next Summer hed be even nearer to breaking Shearers record and may play a big part in any decision he makes.

Real will have Mbappe.

PSG - Meh.

Bayern - Maybe, but by then would 2 or 3 Bundesliga titles appeal over breaking Shearers record?

United wouls surely be ahead of Cheksea and Newcastle in the English pecking order.

THinking about it now, maybe United are looking at a young striker this Summer and getting Kane cheap in Jan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kane wants trophies though, United just don’t guarantee that. That’s been the issue, breaking Shearers record seems great, but Haaland might break it whatever record Kane sets after that. Whereas you can’t take trophies away.

Bayern, PSG and Real absolutely guarantee Harry Kane trophies over a 3 year contract. He could then come back to the Prem at 33/34 and push for Shearers record then, I think he is 47 off it currently, so another 20 this year and he could break the record with a 2 or 3 year contract in his twilight years at somewhere like Newcastle or Villa
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The irony of Kane coming back to Newcastle and breaking Shearer’s record in the no.9 shirt!

They were still Spursy under Poch, despite playing some decent footy and having a decent squad. So why not under the new guy?
Or are we already saying this guy might be better than Poch?

Neil Lennon and Steve Gerrard seemed the "real deal" in the back waters of Scottish football.

Now, let that sink in.

Kane will leave and Spurs will be mid table.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've let it sink in, and you're wrong
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Go away, and let it sink in some more then.

Lenny 1.0 did OK for a spell. Lenny 2.0 was an utter car crash. Stevie G won 1 domestic trophy out of 9 up here, in a 2 horse race. Real deal my erse.

We weren’t Spursy under Poch bar finishing third when the title went in the Leicester season. By the same token though Arsenal were Spursy last season, 2 consecutive draws after being 2-0 up against a lacklustre Liverpool and a euro distracted and relegation battling West Ham, losing at Forest etc - yet people think Arsenal can do better next season? Don’t see it myself, peaked already

Spurs fans will be able to answer this but is Kane an ego type player to whom records are everything?

From what I have seen when listening to his comments is that he is a very humble guy.

Some were labelling Spurs as title contenders this time last year. I reckon they won’t do much.

By “some” you mean Sandy and a couple of pairs of his socks?

To be fair we had reason to hope we'd kick on a bit after a great end to the season and a decent summer window. No one saw us as challengers ....oh how we were wrong. Contes melt down came a season early. I blame global warming
