Spurs

He was dismissed initially at Celtic as well but proved everyone wrong. Had a slow start as well.
Could be interesting, especially with the Kane situation. I think Kane needs to leave and Spurs should cash in and rebuild the side.

posted on 11/7/23

The difficulty he has is the squad was built for defensive managers, 3-4-2-1 formation, has an abundance of wing backs and few genuine attacking options, whereas he is a 4-3-3 attacking manager. Maddison seems a good starting point.

One advantage for him is the lack of European football, so he only needs a small squad and should be able to expect his core to play the majority of games.

Surely they sell Kane.

He could sign a pre contract agreement in Jan with Bayern. Imagine him playing out the season having already agreed a move to Bayern for free at the end of that season?

I reckon whoever bids £100m gets him.

It's gonna be fast and furious by the sounds of it.

May be a bit like early Klopp @ Liverpool, although Spurs will have a pre-season & a transfer window to prepare so should begin to click a bit earlier in the season.

Not sure about being un-Spursy. I think we will be a "we will out score you" sort of team and that always means that even at 2-0 you are never safe...but at least we will probably go down fighting in games rather than go down with our backs against the wall trying to fend off the opposition.

Neil Lennon and Steve Gerrard seemed the "real deal" in the back waters of Scottish football.

Now, let that sink in.

Kane will leave and Spurs will be mid table.

I think by Jan, if he aint signing a new deal then he may well get sold to the highest bidder, of which there will be plenty.

If Kane has a free choice in the summer 24, he aint signing a pre-deal with Bayern in Jan. No way!

I don't think we can wait until Jan, if he won't sign a new deal this summer then we should sell him to the foreign club that bids the most.

At this point Spurs can still engineer where he goes whereas if we wait a year he can sign for whoever he likes. 24/25 season I don't want Kane rocking up at the new Lane in a Chelsea or Utd kit.

We will be bottom half this season unless the gaping hole at centre back is filled - honestly Maguire would be an upgrade for us. Only 4 teams conceded more than we did last year and 3 of them were relegated.

It is a disgrace we are in mid July and haven’t signed a CB, I am resigning myself to watching another year of Enic Dire giving away goal after goal. We’re gonna have a real 90’s feel about us

Spurs are quietly having a good window, compared to the loud crap one they had last summer.

Gonna be a real ballache moving on from the Stink of mourinho, Nuno and Conte though.

For me, 31 year old Kane can go to United or City or Newcastle if he wants in a year. I would hate to see it, but ultimately we will have had his best years and can move on. Long term he wont be the answer to whatever they are trying to achieve. May be 2 more years at the very top of his game.

I think if we made him available in January for £50m, someone like Real Madrid would snap our hand off, possibly evern Newcastle

I would hope he wouldnt go to CFC or AFC out of respect and will likely have many options so this sort of betrayal would not be necessary.

United have a history of paying up in the end. Spurs have had an entire summer window of buying no one. That’s the difference

Why pay £50m when they could wait until the Summer and get him for nothing.

An almost 31 year old Kane on a free would still be a a great signing for Chelsea, United or any club.

PSG interested as well apparently. Starting to get links to Vlahovic, I wonder if Kane tells them tomorrow that he won’t sign a new contract if we will then tell Bayern to stump up £100m and they can have him

On a free teams will be competing with every major club in Europe - £500k a week wages, massive signing on fee. It will be Real, PSG, Bayern, United, Chelsea, Newcastle - it will be a mega outlay for whoever gets him even without a transfer fee and the English sides will be fighting against teams that guarantee trophies over a two year period whereas United and Chelsea don’t

posted on 11/7/23

The fact Bayern are bidding tells you he is up for leaving Spurs.

Spurs should therefore maximise their return and try and sign their next legend, rather than spiting Kane by refusing him whatever move he wants.

I can see Kane announcing he wants to leave later this week.

By next Summer hed be even nearer to breaking Shearers record and may play a big part in any decision he makes.

Real will have Mbappe.

PSG - Meh.

Bayern - Maybe, but by then would 2 or 3 Bundesliga titles appeal over breaking Shearers record?

United wouls surely be ahead of Cheksea and Newcastle in the English pecking order.

THinking about it now, maybe United are looking at a young striker this Summer and getting Kane cheap in Jan.

Because in the summer when he's free, it will be a massive scramble for him. SO anyone who may think they are perhaps not top of that pecking order could complete a deal there and then. I would probably put Bayern in that list because they know if he is free then someone like Real or even United are probably ahead of them.

Its just whether Kane would move in Jan or what for his pick and that will depend on who pitches in.

For me its worth waiting and seeing for the Spurs Board.

But why would Kane sign for someone willing to pay a fee in Jan, if its not his preference?

posted on 11/7/23

Can't see Kane going to Real now, their priority for a forward either this summer or next is clearly Mbappe. I read as well that Real have only ever bought a handful of players in their 30s which Kane will be in a couple weeks time.
