Leeds Utd 0 Birmingham City 1

Highlandwhite Match Thread
======================================================

Our 1st away game of the season takes us to St Andrews and a sell out for the first time in quite a few years for the home club. Will be a very hostile atmosphere against a team who have high hopes this season after a summer of big transformation. With 9 new additions and more on the way manager John Eustace has also the new co owner superstar Tom Brady helping out with motivation speeches, whatever that entails.

Team news
Leeds
A now customary 2 further injured players from last week, making our treatment room look like a Hospital A&E on a Saturday night. Rutter might be available, Gnonto and Adams might be gone and probably too soon for new signing Rodon to make an appearance. Stability is a word seldom used at Elland Road.

Birmingham City
3 injury concerns George Hall, Marc Roberts and Marcel Oakley, they are apparently down to their last 5 fit defenders, whilst we can only dream of having as many as 5 fit defenders.
Someone who may be available is a player called Tyler Roberts who some of the more adept folk might recall played a couple of games for us inbetween injuries.

Long lasting memories to the last time we played here in an unforgettable 5.4 win. Here's hoping for 3 valuable points and will predict a 3.2 win.

Over to you all for predictions and line ups and finally in the customary manner.

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

Think they looked much more like scoring than us. This team probs mid table at best. We desperately need creativity and have done for a few years.
A striker obviously and some steel in defence. Otherwise its going to be a very long season.

Don't mind the defence. Meslier Drameh Rodon Struijk is perfectly fine. Could probably do with a LB, but we will see.

Most pressing issues are midfield and striker, and now, rather annoyingly, winger.

Need a centre-half, left-back, 2 midfielders & a striker.

A very worrying situation, it appears we do not know which of our players are going or staying. This means we do not know what funds we will have to invest in new players. We have a whole team hiding in the treatment room some of whom spend more time in there than playing.

The team we put out today was so weak it was embarrassing. Brum were poor as well so it looked like we might scrape a draw. We somehow managed to shoot ourselves in the foot and lose.

I hope our owners now appreciate the seriousness of our situation and have learned that there is such a thing as relegation in our leagues.

Relegation on the cards, absolute joke of a club

Please “support” another club. You never have one word of praise or encouragement and only ever make comments when we’ve lost. You are just so depressing.

Cheers guys. Going before I see the Prem scores.

Looking back, think James has been catching a lot of unfair flack. Didn't think he was bad today. Average, and his end product is poor, but only player that looked like he was causing them problems, for me.

I think Poveda is much better wide but today had to move inside and let Shacks run the wing. Not sure why we set up that way but I’m not the coach.

James and Byram work well together and I can only see them getting better.

We desperately need bodies back though. Jack will be a huge asset if we can keep him.

We need a clear out though:

Costa
Firpo
Sinestera
Summerville
Gnonto
Adams

All could go if the fight offers come along.
