Wolves welcome both Brighton and Hove A****n to Molineux for their first home game of the new campaign on Saturday. The visitors arrive off the back of a convincing victory over PL new boys Luton and despite losing both Alexis McAllister and Moises Caicedo over the summer have continued their excellent form from last season. In stark contrast to Wolves, Brighton have transfer cash burning a hole in their pocket and are looking to wrap up a deal for Lille's Carlos Baleba.
Wolves will be encouraged by an excellent performance at Old Trafford on Monday night where they were robbed of an injury time penalty by incompetent and incomprehensible refereeing by both Simon Hooper and
VAR Michael Salisbury. Reports coming out of Molineux today indicate that Fabio Silva will remain at the club this season and the popular choice would be for him to start up front alongside Matheus Cunha at the expense of Pablo Sarabia.
A new exciting era of 'Gaz-ball' which resembles 'Bruno-ball' in many respects, let's hope it lasts more than three games.
Goldi's prediction: 1-1

If you left the ground on Saturday thinking anything other than "we'll be in a relegation fight this season", then you would have been the only one.

Correct. Already shaping up to mirror last season exactly. Putting in a performance of the spunky underdog against the top 6 only to be outdone by VAR and poor finishing and then put in a series of woefully inadequate performances against our lower league peers. Nothing done over the summer to address any of the issues.

Slow work day today, spent a few desperate minutes on transfermarkt looking at free agent centre forwards. Some interesting names there, Alfredo Morelos (ex Rangers), Alexis Sanchez (18 goals for Marseille last season), Nelson Oliveira (remember him, regularly linked with us a few years back cos he was Portuguese), Shane Long, Papis Cisse oh and Bright Enobakhare.
Picking Costa off that same scrap heap brought us one goal so not necessarily advocating we go back there but Sanchez might be one worth exploring, was surprised to see he'd been as productive as that at 34.

Elvedi was not in the Borussia squad at the weekend. The club explanation was that they didn’t want to put a transfer at risk by him picking up an injury

Well boys, I was depressed before the weekend, not feeling any better after that show.
Need a boost from the lads, soon.

There will be a lot of pressure on Everton on Saturday, but just as much on us now. I was one of the few that didn't take loads of positives from the United match, we played well, created loads of chances, but ultimately we don't have anyone to put them away and we lost.
At the moment, we need 40 shots to score one goal. I said last week that we need to keep a clean sheet to have any hope of winning a match.
