Leeds 1 West Bromwich Albion 1

Highlandwhite Match Thread ==================================================

Friday night kick off 8pm,
Live on Sky sports and Talksport.

Our 2nd home league of the season welcomes quite familiar opposition to what will be a hostile, frustrated and angry Elland Road. It's a sad state of affairs when the away Manager will receive a much warmer welcome than all of our current board members.

Team news
Leeds
Easier getting news from North Korea but here goes.
Sam Greenwood might be the only addition to the squad that performed so miserably last weekend and with a squad that doesn't leave Daniel Farke with many options. No sense in mentioning the injured players as with some we don't know if they are actually injured or not. As for the Rats.....
West Brom
Practically at full strength as they welcome back from injury the highly rated Brandon Thomas-Asante.
West Brom have lost at Blackburn and defeated Swansea and will really fancy their chances against us, but let's be honest who wouldn't at the moment.

Be positive Earl, be positive, so I'll go for a less than confident 2.1 win.

Over to you all for predictions and line ups and finally in the customary manner.

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!

If the league is poor what does that make us,played 3 won none. Top 6 don't make me laugh.

The lads were very unlucky tonight (nothing new there then) and the ref was rubbish, but I enjoyed the effort each one put in (apart from Rutter}. Such a refreshing sight after last season’s “couldn’t give a t**s” set of players. A few quality additions and we will be fine.

Listening to the studio pundits on sky has left me feeling a lot more hopeful than last week certainly and the consensus seems to be that WBA are going to be definitely challenging for play offs and around that top 6 position so like it's been reiterated many times that 5 or 6 new Farke ball ready players is going to make all the difference to these draws becoming wins.

Also I could see a definite shift in momentum confidence wise in some of the players tonight despite some very critical and glass half empty opinions on here.... No it wasnt perfect but for me our energy levels and commitment was excellent.

Happiest I've been after a game this season. Thought everyone played well, the tactics are clearly working, though not quite finessed, and the big flaws are personnel. Add a quality striker, CM and natural LB and I think we can do things in this leagye.

I hate, hate to single out individual players, you want to support anyone in the shirt.

But man, I struggle to see any point to Rutter.

35 million for a player not ready for the championship is probably the worst signing I have ever seen... And we signed Brolin
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair he’s not being played in his best position and we can’t blame him for the fee we paid.

I actually thought he worked very hard tonight and tried to put pressure on the centre backs. I still think he’s got a lot to learn though.

As for the fans in general - when I saw the team and the bench my first thought was defeat. I’d have taken the point before KO but in the end we were unlucky not to score a couple in the first half and could have had a penalty I think (although I haven’t seen the replay).

Rutter’s shot at the end seemed pretty close as well.

Anyone know where Poveda was/is?

Sky sports commentator said Poveda had a minor injury.... whatever that means.

Think all these dropped points may come back to bite us. That's 5 points dropped (4 at home and a point we had in the bag at Brum) already albeit a long way to go. Need to get players in sharpish. Cannot see us getting anything at Ipswich either.

Poveda was sat next to Bamford in the stands.
