Everytime I'm hoping and fancy a bounce back, we throw it back in our faces. 2-2 and 2 more points dropped. Failed to strengthen this week and deserve what we get tomorrow.
Rutter needs to show some serious promise tomorrow.
Our defence is slowly looking better, albeit against weak opposition. Ayling is a concern. I am looking forward to seeing what Rodon has to offer.
The Baggies are looking well-balanced with threats from the midfield and up front. Can we contain them?
We are on a hope and a prayer. Maybe Rutter comes on and does something. Maybe DJ passes the ball to one of ours. Maybe Joffy remembers where the net is. Maybe we get get a goal.
They certainly will.
Optimistically, 1-1, with the 13th man getting the ball into the net off Joffy's ar$e.
It would be nice just to see a performance that makes us like our team just a little bit.
I don't know why but I'm sensing a win of some description for us... we certainly need it.
Morning all🌞.
So, I’m trying to be optimistic so I’ll go for a draw. Probably 1-1 but 3-3 wouldn’t be a surprise either. If we win, I’ll eat my sweaty cacks😁.
I am erring on the optimistic, the lads to stuff the schum this evening.
Probably not live on LUTV because itt clashes with our first team game. You couldn't make it up, could you.
Anyway, if you're interested:
Not going to do a thread on this because the Premier League are really peeing me off here but:
Premier League 2 Division 1 Man Utd U21 vs Leeds Utd U21 date 18/08/23 Time 19:00 Venue; Old Trafford
Recent form. Man Utd Played 1 away at Crystal Palace Lost 3:2 Leeds United Played 1 Away at Brighton Won 2:4 Leeds top scorer Luca Thomas (3) Man Utd Mateo Mejia (1), Noam Emeran (1).
Hoping for a win here. Not over confident as I’m not sure who’s gonna score really.

I’m with you on this. The team we had for the second half of last season was one I found myself actually disliking - partly through the players’ lack of connection with the fans and partly because of the lack of commitment and passion shown on the pitch. We won’t get that back easily but I believe if anyone can restore a sense of unity, it’s Daniel Farke. But nothing less than a draw tonight would set us on the right road.
HOF/Lorra - agree with a lot of your sentiments but I'm not going to get too uptight about tonight.
For me the show really starts September 2nd.
Further to your point regarding connection wirh players, we need a few more honest and good football standard grafters. An Andy Hughes or a fit Stuey Dallas style attitude readily springs to mind. The converse which we experienced last season was a real low point.(I'll park the loanees potentially coming back for now)
Can't be confident, no goals in the squad at present.
With Rodon in, fancy us to improve defensively.
0-0
We fielded what was apparently one of the weakest sides ever against Birmingham and they only edged the win.
We seem to be standing firm on Gnonto and Sinisterra.
Given the circumstances, Farke is certainly performing well in his communications and inspiring confidence - I presume he has the same impact on the players.
Wouldn't it be great to pull a win out of the bag(gies) at this point?
C'MON LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS!

Yes, what a shame Dallas did himself in with that rash tackle all those games ago - with a fit Stuey, I feel almost certain we'd have stayed up last season. But if we had a few more players with the attitude of Dallas, Coops and Ayling that would inevitably rub off on the rest of the team. They're out there - let's find 'em.
And yes you're probably right about tonight's result - with the state of chaos in and around the squad right now, we probably shouldn't put too much significance on the outcome. And if we do lose, please let's not all go doom and gloom!
...Certainties - Death, Taxes and your last sentence Lorra!
....and my attitude now compared to at 10pm tonight, if its all gone South!

No huge loss, Ampadu probs a better all round player. More creativity needed.
1-0 to us. Gelhardt to score.
Rodon in from the start playing at CB will
make a huge difference to this team.

Just setting off 😱
Would people like to see a lineup like this?
Meslier
Ayling--Cresswell--Rodon--Struijk--Byram
Gyabi--Ampadu--Gray
Rutter--Geldhart
We haven't got a 10, a decent CF forward plus Rutter needs to try something else as he's looked lost upfront on his own, so why not make ourselves harder to beat
with a back 5 and try a strike partnership instead of the usual 4 misfits in attack.
Gyabi looked miles off when last saw him v Shrewsbury
