Name and Shame

I keep seeing people saying players didnt give their all, last season.

Never see any names mention though.

So who are these players who weren’t trying.

Lets name and shame the b@stards

We have the best example of manager getting more out of average players in Bielsa.
We also have a good example of a manager not being able to do that in Marsch.
I feel were back on track with Farke, so all we need is to fill the squad with player he wants that want to be here.

Loads of talk in pre season about Bamford and Meslier not looking interested.

Mes looks into it, we'll have to see how Bamfords attitude is but I'm looking forward to finding out.
We need to sign a striker irregardless.

Bielsa got far more out of these players then you would expect and it was due to fitness.

Marsch got far less out of these players then you would expect and it was due to lack of fitness.

I wouldn’t say any of them didn’t give their all.

They did show a massive lack of fight and belief towards the end, after that Palace result. Heads just dropped as soon as we conceded a goal from that point. Our form in the run in was horrendous. Too many soft personalities, without Cooper, Wober, Adams, they lacked the grit needed IMO

But that’s a bigger issue, down to management, recruitment, personalities in the squad, but not down to effort.

Batty and Don.

This is excatly what I think.

I keep saying these lazy comments about players not trying.

I’m with you guys. People can’t see the difference between lack of confidence, lack of ability… and effort.

There are footballers who go soft from the money. But by and large they’re brought up in hugely competitive academy environments where you don’t survive unless you’re highly competitive. If pros don’t put the effort in they get dropped and canned very quickly.

Lack of fight = lack of effort in my view, Leeds Fan. When you lose week after week, yes, your head goes down, but the best players still produce at the highest level, because that is what they have trained all their lives to do. There are plenty, though, who simply slump. Of course our lot were hindered by abysmal training, changes of coaches and incoherent strategies for managing games. But too many of them simply folded and the leadership clique did not help either. Top to bottom, as we know, there was so much wrong, but good pros keep fighting to play and to win. We saw Bournemouth and Forest, with less able players, staying up last season, because they had good pros. We didn't.
