Issue is identifying what was a lack of fitness (given the side were arguably the unfittest squad in premier league history) and what were players jogging back at times who just couldn’t be bothered.
Not sure any player didn't try or give effort.
They were just sh 1 t players for the Prem.
I’ve never bought into this players not trying, managers lost the dressing room stuff, might not be working out for a player they might be off form but I think they nearly always do their best, Roca and Aaronson last season didn’t work out for them but in my eyes they always gave 100%, Aaronson especially I was sorry for because he never stopped trying even when the crowd were getting on his back,
the fat useless lump of lard, didn't give a feck and it showed, we were a meal ticket for him. Nothing more nothing less. Let him sue me if he thinks I am wrong.
Batty and Don.
This is excatly what I think.
I keep saying these lazy comments about players not trying.
I think there were many occasions when players were jogging back to defend rather than sprint at times. However this is comparing a fit Bielsa outfit when players sprinted back to a Marsch unfit one.
I think Farke would have got a tune out of Roca.
I've been named and shamed by Wakey.
Actually thought at times that Aaronson was trying too hard, with his head down, and this resulted in 'Headless Chicken' syndrome.
I think most fans were against the key stone cops style of defending and lack of fitness, not effort.
Heads did go down after the Palace fiasco.
Never questioned the application. We've always tried in games and plugged away but came up short on quality time and time again. The only exception to that was the final game v Spurs in which we folded like a paper aeroplane. Wanted us go down kicking and screaming, not letting a garbage Spurs team stick 4 past us in our back yard.
Anyway, my focus is on Saints and Leicester, one has 7 points, 2 decent CF's with money to spend, the other has a 100% record
Want to talk about shaming, Leicester and Saints are doing that to us, suprise suprise.
When Aaronson came here to Union Berlin he was told he had a lot of work to do on his fitness!..
So, if that's the case, I think Marsch's players, or should I say the whole team under Bielsa, and now with Farke would have been a complete different bunch of players!..
We'll never know, but these players might be better than we saw because they had the wrong people training them!..
Brighton lol
Sell there 2 best players and still win 4-1 at Wolves 🤣
Model football club them. If we were ran half aswell, we'd be promoted by February.
Yep. What a well run club looking to build and improve looks like compared to one at the very other end of that scale.

I’m with you guys. People can’t see the difference between lack of confidence, lack of ability… and effort.
There are footballers who go soft from the money. But by and large they’re brought up in hugely competitive academy environments where you don’t survive unless you’re highly competitive. If pros don’t put the effort in they get dropped and canned very quickly.
We have the best example of manager getting more out of average players in Bielsa.
We also have a good example of a manager not being able to do that in Marsch.
I feel were back on track with Farke, so all we need is to fill the squad with player he wants that want to be here.
Loads of talk in pre season about Bamford and Meslier not looking interested.

Mes looks into it, we'll have to see how Bamfords attitude is but I'm looking forward to finding out.
We need to sign a striker irregardless.
Bielsa got far more out of these players then you would expect and it was due to fitness.
Marsch got far less out of these players then you would expect and it was due to lack of fitness.

was just pre season paranoid for some folk.
I wouldn’t say any of them didn’t give their all.
They did show a massive lack of fight and belief towards the end, after that Palace result. Heads just dropped as soon as we conceded a goal from that point. Our form in the run in was horrendous. Too many soft personalities, without Cooper, Wober, Adams, they lacked the grit needed IMO
But that’s a bigger issue, down to management, recruitment, personalities in the squad, but not down to effort.
