Final day of the summer 2023 transfer window
Ok , we do have three key players who are expected to move before the window shuts.
Calum Hudson Odoi, - anticipated to move to either Forrest or Fulham, the once coverted 90m footballer, is struggling to attain a 10m fee.
Trevor Chalobah has been attracting interest, the fee seems to be the stumbling block.
Finally, Marco Cucuerella, Poch doesnt fancy him, well there is ment to be a decent footballer in there somewhere, that may be, but he has failed appear at Cfc as yet.
Huge fee, huge wages will inevitably mean the club will be on a loser right through this players contract, the only hope seems to be a loan move and the decent player emerges.
Not including these players the CFC squad for this season should look like as follows:
Sanchez, Djordi, Bettinelli:
James, Gusto, Silva, Colwill, Disasi:
Badiashelli, Chilwell, Maatsen, Fofana:
Enzo, Gallagher, Caicedo, Lavia, Ugo:
Sterling, Carney, Mudryk, Noni, Palmer:
Nkunku, Jackson , Broja:
That is not a poor squad by any means, lots of quality, pace, desire & inexperience
It is a 25 man squad two players to cover each position. It is fit for purpose.
The squad has regained its feel good factor, all the deadwood has been removed, they are united and do have purpose
Bringing this squad together in the manor it has been done has created a lot chat, but the ownership made a decision to totally rebuild, moving on over 20 first team players (28 overall aprx) since it took over 15 months ago.
The reasons were understandable as a state of apathy and uncertainty had crept to the playing staff.
The reasons were numerous, going back to prior Tuchel, transfer bans, management changes, Covid, (brexit) the sanctions placed on Roman , the manor in which Roman lost ownership & the new ownerships abysmal first year in charge and their poor decision making.
The club decided to ask all playing staff to renew their contracts & terms or be considered sale-able.
Some players brought in the first window overseen by the new ownership were seen unsuitable & overpriced.
Finally, loosing C/L status was definitely not part of the new ownerships plan, this failing has created i would suggest the most significant issues, loss of income, difficulty in signing players and questions over FFP compliance.
Going forward, today CFc have a young dynamic group of players, a manager who is ideal to develop such talented squad.
This squad will learn how to compete at the higher levels, it is a matter of time and patience.
The only issue is can this squad regain C/L status in this season?
If it was not for FFP, the squad would be under a lot less pressure.
But the club now has to navigate 35 more premiership matches aiming for a top 5 finish.
No European football, will help with injuries, and player management.
As long as the all the playing staff pull together in one direction with the aim of getting into the top 5 and having good cup runs, they are in with a fighting chance
COY Blues, KTBFFH!

What does "once covered" mean?
What's a "feel factor"?
You seem so excited to click 'Publish' that I don't think you actually proofread your articles.

I don't proof read mine, it's a football forum not an exam.

So, Nick, at what point did you start saying "Potter out"? And how long is Poch gonna get if results don't go his way? Will 3 months be enough to decide he's a busted flush? 4? Is he guaranteed at least until Christmas?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
for me, I didn't want him in the first place. If poch has us down in 12th he should suffer the same fate.
However at least poch looks to be implementing his own style and will hopefully not repeatedly play players under performing.
If potter was 7th/8th he'd still be at the club, they were showing impeccable patience.
However the worst run any fan over 30 has seen, he had to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That depends on the "feeling" coming from the players. Under Mouringo, they were burnt out, they flatly disliked Vila Boas, Sarri was liked in the dressing room but not by the board - Potter was liked by the board, but not the players -if there is progress under Poch . signs of a TEAM, a style of play, direction, them I'm happy, more than that I'm ecstatic. We need a LONG TERM plan, which these signings point towards,
