Not really the same bringing Brighton into it, they dont need to sell. Wolves wanted 60m. City paid 53m with a deal that helped them with there ffp struggles.

End of the day Girona are there own club, It does seem that City have recommended him in the negotiations. Is it really this fantastic deal that you are making out to make out its unfair. I dont see it. How much would you say he should of gone for then? Theres no point kidding yourself in saying the only reason he went is because City wanted Nunes, he was obviously always for sale at a certain price. Could it of been more if not for the Nunes deal maybe, but I dont know as I have never seen him play. Were any other clubs interested and went to Wolves solely on City say so, doesnt look like it. I admit thats based on a quick google search.

Micky Van Der Ven, an uncapped centre back of the same age cost £43m.

Maybe it is coincidence. On the same day.

Ok, so you are talking about Santiago Bueno, personally i have never heard of him. So I have no idea if the 12m euro that transfermarkt say they paid is a great deal or not. Time will tell though, as he will walk into that Wolves team assuming you are correct on how much of a great deal it is for Wolves.

I stand by the Nunes stuff, I think it isnt a very good price. From his time at Wolves I think they were very lucky to make a profit on him. Only really Lavia on that list you have a fair point about.

Whether we think Nunes is a fair price is pretty moot tbf (but it was a good price, or do you feel you over paid?).

It was late in the window, they didn't want to sell, but another club owned by City could provide a sweetener to get a deal over the line on the same day.

It absolutely stinks.

Could Chelsea have gone to Brighton and said,

'We know you don't want to sell Caicedo, but what if one of our other clubs had a player you like. Take him at a price FAR below current market value, it won't show on our books for FFP, and will look better on yours too."

No.

It's just wrong and you've got to be a bit of a bell or willfully obtuse to say otherwise imo.

I dont think he has shown himself to be a 53m player at Wolves no. I expected City to walk away after the first bid was rejected. I'm surprised they are in for him at all tbh, hopefully he proves me wrong. Didn't like how he refused to train either. Which I assume helped the negotiations.

Just a quick google search shows they aren't the same age. Even if they were does that mean they are the same level? 2 caps for Uruguay at 24. 0 for Holland at 22. What does that prove for your argument?

Oops I'm wrong there, he is 24.

It doesn't prove anything at all. I just think that multiclub ownership leads to conversations like this.

Like I said, maybe it's coincedence.

Just like Chelsea struggling for FFP compliance getting a massive sponsorship offer from a country that has billions invested in Chelsea's owners.

Maybe sll those charged are false too while we're here.

What is clear, is that 606 fans of state owned clubs on will say pretty much anything.

Should bt and sky have influence on who is on Chelsea shirt though? I haven't read much about it other than they wanted Paramount+ and these two kicked off. If they have an overly inflated deal from the Saudi company then fair point. I cant really comment on the ownership of Chelsea I don't know anything about it really.

I couldnt care less about any of the City group clubs other than city obviously haha. Call me biased if you want then, but if the deal for the player is fair for Girona I don't have an issue with it. From what I can see based off what he has done in his career 12m euro looks right.

I said before I don't think its a coincidence he ended up there. But I just don't see a benefit in the deal for Wolves based on the City link.

hes come across very bitter and spun more than a spider on this thread. Find him usually quite approachable but here he has his thoughts and that's that.

the nunes comments are particularly strange. I think city paid a ridiculous fee for someone who on the face of it hasn't done anything for 2 years.
