All they were saying at the back end of Jose's reign and throughout the Ole era was that player power had gone too far at Utd and there was no leadership at the club.
Now we have a manager who is laying down the law and apparently that's not correct either.
Make your minds up lads. đ
Or is it perhaps because you just have to have an opinion on the country's biggest football club because it's good for your PR? Maybe it's that.
Pundits are such hypocrites

My biggest gripe with ETH so far is Antony. Okay the manager doesn't dictate the fee we paid but he was very keen to get him here regardless and he's not shown anything like the justification for it thus far.
And in ETH's defence he's had so much negative stuff to deal with already, most of which aren't on the field related either. I feel for him, I really do. He's had a raw deal really in comparison to previous managers in terms of scandals and distractions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a weak league Antony was a stand out player. Not many from the Dutch league transfer that form over to the EPL, not many record signings for Utd have worked out well either! What annoys me the most about Antony is how one dimensional he is, can't even beat a player but has very good work rate. So, is he a FB or a wide player? đ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much how I see it too. His defensive work is his best asset and he plays in a front 3.
Very poor signing. Not like us at all. đ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are so profligate with money, may be better off if we changed our model.
If our DOF was best in class no way in a million years we buy the likes of Antony or even Sancho!
So many issues, where do we start, mate?! đ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who are the best in class DOFs, outside of City?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have the money get the best, if that means stealing the best from your neighbours then so be it. If the best team is leading the way, you either join them (in the way they do things) to match them then beat them, you don't try to reinvent the wheel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, again, who are the best in class DoFs, outside of City?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brighton recruit well, many have great structures that would trounce ours.
Give our wealth to Brighton, with the structure they have they would win the league by assembling a squad on a shoestring budget!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brighton have done brilliantly gambling on cheaper players, but the expectations on them are completely different to that of United. Plus, Brighton won't keep getting it right.
Give them our wealth and they will be quoted double the price they currently are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City also have the wealth yet seem pick up players, top players, at reasonable rates. They clearly negotiate well but importantly get things done quickly, without fuss.
We pay over the top for average rubbish.

Nothing a squad hates more than players that don't do it on the pitch or at training yet still get picked ahead of guys that, in their mind, do.
It might actually galvanise spirits rather than have broken them?

Helped massively by the fact they have the world's best coach / manager, and unlimited wealth.

SAF and Gill leaving at the same time.
Woodward learning on the job.
late to install a proper sporting structure at the club post SAF.
Poor managerial appointments.
Poor player recruitment.
Poor player performance.
Investment at Chelsea, City, Liverpool.
Liverpool stumbling onto Klopp and his perfect team.
City becoming one of the worlds best run clubs.
There have been a number of reasons why we haven't been as succesful post SAF. It's.not all about the owners or lack of sructure at the club.

ETH said nothing wrong in his comments on Sancho. He was asked the question and he answered honestly.
Sancho responded badly on Twitter though IMO. I think he could have used that to respond but still keep in ETH's goodbooks with something like: "Disappointed not to be involved today. I thought I'd trained well but the manager didn't see it that way. Next week I'll make sure he notices me in a good way".
Gets his point across but also states he'd strive to improve. Job done.

What if you'd have 100'000 abusive messages as a result ofnthe managers comments though?

I have never been a sancjo fan and still have reservations with ETH.
From an objective stance, I don't support the manager doing what he did. It should've been dealt with in-house knowing the player profile
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In normal circumstances I'd agree however Sancho has been thrown enough rope now by the club and manager.
He effectively got a 3 month holiday last year with full pay so he's a cheeky git for what he's said. And the rumours suggest it's because he has a severe computer game addition as well of all things so I'm sorry I have no sympathy.
We need grafters and winners at this club if we want to be a top club again. We don't need snowflakes like Sancho.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely this.
He had so much support last year to get his act together / head straight.
