No leadership on the pitch

Gone are the days when we had a great captain and an inspiring leader on the pitch with a strong character to carry the team when things were going wrong for us.

We've gone from the likes of Eric Cantona , Roy Keane , Nemanja Vidic , Rio Ferdinand , Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra ...

To Harry Maguire and now crybaby Bruno Fernandes

How Bruno Fernandes is the captain of this team is beyond me. A guy who pretty much always gives up when things aren't going well , he hardly ever shows up in big matches especially away from home and he's usually the first guy to drop his head and starts moaning and whining at everything and everybody around him.

But it's his constant berating and yelling at his teammates even after HE FACKS UP that infuriates me the most about him.

I can't stand his attitude. He ain't no leader and it's pretty clear that this team lack serious leadership on the pitch when we need it the most.

Varane is always injured.

I am fuming as much as you it is Bruno but who else

Lets see.

No wifebeaters.
No cry babies.
Nobody made of glass.

Who does that leave us with?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arise, Sir Harry of Maguire

His case in Greece is still ongoing isn't it? Even Sir Harry isn't squeaky clean. 😂

A poor appointment by ETH.

Should have been Casemiro

Whilst you obviously need a captain, I think the old school role that either Keane or Robson previously played has gone to a large degree.

You need all the players to step up - not all may necessarily be natural leaders, but they all have a natural collective responsibility to the club, and those more experienced ones like Casemiro, Fernandes, Rashford, Eriksen, Martinez etc need to be leading the way.

As well as we did last season, that was due to both our own tenacity but also other clubs underperforming - that hasn't happened this season so far, the 2 underperforming are us and Chelsea. If we were playing well, or half decently but just not getting a bit of luck, that would be slightly more acceptable, but the performances, work-rate, style of play, it's all been laboured.
And it's fair to say that our 2 wins were fairly fortunate also. The season is young and there's time to turn it around, but it will be much more difficult to do that compared to last season - we have so far gone so backwards in a few weeks. ETH really will have to earn his crust over the coming weeks.

Squad is, yet again, an unbalanced mess.

Said it before but our best players are least suited to ETHs style, and the manager will probably play a totally different style rendering all his purchases useless.

Which has pretty much been your issue for every coach you’ve had since Ferguson.

Penandez is and has been the most punchable player in the league since he arrived. Decent player but an utter cretin that blames everyone else. Crumbles at the first sign of adversity and is an appalling Captain. Doesn't lead by example or inspiration. Just a guy that looks weak and is weak. From Keano to that melt🫠

I said the same about Bruno and lack of leadership in general on the pitch and got slated!

It really is shocking how low the Man United captaincy has fallen. From Roy Keane to the crybaby we have now.

Making Fernandes captain is basically telling the team that they should aspire to moan and whinge and drop their heads when the going gets tough.

How Fernandes is still playing for utd after the Liverpool game is beyond me. His form doesn even merit a place on the bench.
