This is a bit random but read the bellow comment in Guardian this am and thought it was pretty accurate. Got me thinking a bit and couldn't help thinking about Joelinton up at Newcastle. A bit like Richie, he initially struggled (living up to the expectation of being the Toon's Number 9 a bit similar to trying to replace someone like Kane).
Just wondered if a bit of understanding, sensible management and some good coaching might get the best out of player who's defo got talent & might thrive in a different position. Perhaps we should worry less about the number of goals he scores and just focus on getting him the ball and letting him do his thing. Son seems to have the stature, personality and sheer talent to take on the role of primary goal scorer and main man at Spurs !
"It got a little lost in the general chaos of puzzled-looking bald blokes nominally in charge of a multimillion-pound game-review system, but Tottenham also won on Saturday. In the process Ange Postecoglou – vibes man, empathy-master, the first nice man ever to be involved in football – demonstrated another of his qualities; the ability to bring previously flatlining footballers back into the realm of the living. Against Liverpool Richarlison played his first 90 minutes since August, had five shots at goal, made tackles, interceptions, dribbles, fouls and created a goal. Shifted to the left, the burden of acting as Kane-style centre-forward a little dissipated, he has looked for the first time a functioning element in his team, part of a notably busy front three. Given Richarlison’s obvious state of unhappiness a few weeks ago, this feels like an achievement in itself for now, and another note of quiet progress"
Am I crazy or does this make a bit of sense with Richy the option on the left (solomon the back up), Feliz backing up Son as CF and Johnson & Kulu competing for the role on the right ?
Really hope he's getting through his personal issues.... He's defo looked at lot brighter in the past couple of weeks
Bit of credit for Richarlison

Richarlison is never going to morph into a technically gifted, tricky player with two-footed close control, a bit like Deki, but what they both have is the energy, intent, and persistence that worries defenders and, as such, they can and do contribute a lot.

You just described great subs

Yeah, true. But we're second and undefeated with their contributions. We definitely could improve on them though I agree.

I actually thought we won in spite of Richy on Saturday, not because of him. Like Piffle above, I didn't rate him at Watford or Everton and I've not seen anything to change my mind on that front. Being Brazilian and playing for their national team at a time when they have a dearth of strikers isn't really a sign that there's a brilliant player in there waiting to come out, it just means that Brazil are shorter than they once were in that area. I think he's a technically limited player who will, in time, be shipped out for a lot, lot less than we paid for him.
Nothing will change my mind on him now and sympathy for his mental state shouldn't impact on his chances at Spurs. As far as I'm concerned, he has always been a distinctly average player long before any mental health or personal issues occurred.

Basically this. I would add that he is only getting away with being so awful because everyone is in holiday mode due to how well you lot are doing.
A couple of lacklustre defeats and I'm sure he woudn't be getting the same patience from the fans

Tbf we have been critical of him despite the good start. He was horrendous in the win at Bournemouth for example.
I like the guy and really hope he proves me wrong, but I just can’t see it.

Do you really think Kulu or Richy would scare a full-back? Neither can go around a player.
Especially Kulu. Run, stop, pass inside. Run, stop, pass inside.

He may not be able to go round a player but can muscle his way through often enough. He's a unit and uses his body well to mitigate for his technical deficiencies, namely his one-footedness.

I felt a bit sorry for Richarlison. He is obviously trying so hard. At least he got the assist for that goal Son scored.
And I think his luck may well improve.
He can score goals, and has done so for Brazil...I remember a very athletic effort.

Where were you? Kulusevski was being double-teamed until Pool ran out of players. Sometimes triple-teamed.
Kulushevski's problem is not running past a single back. Its getting bottled up by a gang.
He has to learn to pass off quickly...and also to shoot.
But him on the right and Solomon on the left will be a great set-up to worry defences.
Pity we've lost Perisic. He was a great option.

Thought Richie did well. His main problem is he sometimes has the first touch of a kerb. He is better in the left for me 👍

He has kept every full back he has come up against on his toes this season, and scored a couple of goals, so he isn`t` that bad a player.
Yes, he doesn`t always go around a player, but he causes plenty of problems. So I think you are being very harsh on him.
