Spurs can now sit back and relax for the

rest of the weekend, and with the next game 10 days away hopefully the team will be fully recovered from their two games this week. They did what was required, won both the games, and extended their lead at the top to five points. Very unlikely they will still have that lead when the kick off against Chelsea, as all the Prem team will have played twice more before Spurs kick aball again. But the worse way even after they have all played Spurs will still be a point off the top with a game in hand, when they next kick off.

The bare facts of the season thus far:

10 games played, eight wins, two draws, no defeats

Home, played four, won four, maximum 12 points
Away, played six, won four, 14 points out of 18

Played Liverpool, United, Arsenal. Four London Derbies.

Not sure we can ask for anything more. And the salty opposition supporters saying yeh well Spurs haven`t played anyone yet need to give their heads a wobble. Spurs have played half the division, and still to lose.

As a supporter that even before a ball was kicked, fancied Spurs to be well in the mix at the top, nice to be proved right thus far. I have always maintained that one game a week is a massive, massive advantage to Spurs up until the New Year at least, and possibly beyond. They don`t need a massive squad to circumnavigate one match a week. They just need to keep the main players on the pitch as long as possible. Although obviously a back up CB, and striker would not go amiss. With Bentancur back now, midfield is all but sorted, which means a bit of rotation is still possible in that important area of the pitch.

On to last night`s match, it wasn`t brilliant. First half was dire, 2nd half was a bit better, especially at 2-0 up,they started to knock the ball around. First half was far to slow, and just knocking the ball about between the CBs was one of the reasons for the poor showing 1st half. 75 per cent possession should in theory have seen more than one shot on target, which shows in reality possession means SFA, especially if most of it is in your own half. It`s a learning curve though, and I suspect Ange spotted things last night that were not brilliant, and will attempt to rectify.

Micky VDV and Sarr were the two best players in my opinion. Richarlison and Porro were both poor, and would not be surprised to see Emerson come in for Porro against Chelsea. Bissouma looked a bit rusty, but he didn`t get booked, so is available for the Chelsea match, Davies is clearly finished, getting hooked off at H/T signals the end for him I think, or least as a starter. Good that Bentancur, Johnson and Gil got some minutes.

So all in all what`s not to like right now with Spurs Enjoy your weekend.

VDV is a special player. Real class at the back and pace that makes you confident he can keep up with anyone. All at a young age. I still can't believe we managed to get him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s astonishing that he has gone under the radar of bigger clubs than us - he literally has it all. Technically very good on the ball, physically strong, 6’3” and good in the air and absolutely facking rapid across the ground, his pace over 30 yards is blistering - he is on record as the 9th fastest player in Bundesliga history, ahead of Haaland.

I know Maddison has got all the plaudits but VDV and Vicario have been brilliant signings for us, the two best in their respective positions in the PL so far this season (also how did Carragher give Madders and not VDV MOTM last night).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Carra explained it that he gave it to Madders on the basis of his involvement in both goals but it was a very close call with VDV.

He did turn down Liverpool who were after him. I saw multiple article in the Echo about Klopp wanting him etc...But VDV had decided to come to Spurs very early on.

Great player, has all the attributes to be a superstar CB, and also has the temperament to go with.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Turned down Liverpool

Making stuff up as usual, I never heard we were in for him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You obviously not a true fan if you don't know transfers of your club.

All you have to go is google it

Here's a link https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/micky-van-de-ven-liverpool-27162007

And at the time, summer transfer plenty of sources inc Liverpool Echo linked him with a move to them.

Just putting emojis and lols on comments doesn't make you credible. Now jog on troll.

Least pranks isn’t carrying a huge chip on his shoulder like quite a lot of the Liverpool fan base on here

That moron who keeps posting the same drivel about not winning a trophy for blah blah blah blah is an absolute cretin

He doesn’t even seem that popular on the Liverpool board

I’m enjoying it while it lasts but if we finish lower than 4th I’ll be disappointed due to no European football
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pranks is actually a very decent Liverpool fan. He likes a bit of banter without all the insults.

Pranks had an ephiphany recently that he cannot bear to be with lying hypocrites bin dippers so he is cleansing himself slowly
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He does enema’s for kicks. Sometimes on himself too

I would not worry about Arsenal they are serial bottlers. Flat track bullies is their game, as they showed at the weekend. No team flat tracks better than Arsenal, then flies the white flag in the big away games.
