Saudi Arabia by western standards have extremely questionable human rights records, yes but as a nation they are football mad, so is it for the people or the regime that you award World Cups. Very few Asian countries have the infrastructure to host a World Cup, Japan and South Korea have hosted recently, China does but would the OP look on a bid from them any more favourably, India, Turkey and Pakistan, with Russia and Israel you start to run into problems.
The World Cup becomes a exclusive club that only a few countries are allowed to host.
I think FIFA and it's richer member nations are rich enough, they should find a way to enable small countries to be subsidised to host.

The World Cup should not require new stadia to be built, it should be done using existing infrastructure so it should be going to countries that can host it.

Agree totally they should play matches like they do qualifying games in the stadia that are available be that seating 100,000 in Wembley or 200 in Nauru don't you think that would be wonderful?

Seriously though if a group of countries in the south pacific had no stadia and could build four/five/six stadia capable of hosting the world cup and could evidence that they could sustain them in the future wouldn't you welcome a bid or would you prefer a bid from the same old countries?
You might argue, well Nauru would never qualify and would get beaten very easily in their group, how did Qatar do?

I know I drifted off there but I started with a theme of the Saudi World Cup being for the Saudi people and not for the regime and went to a world of the world cup being truly a thing for people and not corporate big business and about making money and lining people's pockets, Sorry, but would it be lovely.
