Normally we’d rest a few players in the league cup but with the pressure on the manager and players you’d think another defeat might just pile more hassle onto the club so should ETH play his strongest side this morning?
Perversely you could argue however that our ‘strongest’ side might not actually be our strongest side and perhaps a game off for Bruno might help us with a midfield of Mount, Amrabat and Mejbri.
It’s a tough one. Which side should the manager pick? Pick Martial up top? Or play Hojlund and try and get him a goal to get some confidence?
Stick or twist against Newcastle?

What Diafol said, but with Bayindir and Martial in for Onana and Hojlund

Wouldn't argue against that but I'd like to see Onana continue his better form. Martial is a decent shout I suppose to not overplay Hojlund but I would like to see him break his domestic scoring duck soon. Perhaps as a sub coming on the same time as Rashford to add some pace?

I think its pretty important we give Bayindir some game time before the AFCON (assuming Onana goes). I wouldn't be too comfortable with chucking him straight in after not having a competitive game for 6 months...I'm surprised he didn't play the previous round actually.
Martial I think needs the minutes - plus if he does well I'd consider giving him the next game against Fulham too.

I'd love to see a highly motivated 2nd string.
I expect to see what ETH sees as his stongest line up.

I wouldn't play Bruno or Rashy. Casemiro and Mount definitely. Other than that not too bothered.

I agree he needs games. I just think it could well be in a league game rather than a cup game though. I think ETH will consider this trophy more important than he may have done considering the start to the season we've made.
Such is football though if we did win tonight and Saturday we'll be on a run of five wins from six with only a defeat to City blotting the copybook!

Pellestri!!!!!!
No but seriously, if hes not an idiot, he should repeat the last team at the Palace league cup game. So many reasons can be used. But he wont. He will play the team he thinks is the best one. Because hes an idiot

It's not about resting players, it's about dropping underperforming ones and giving the others a chance. But ETH has lost the plot and won't drop those that need dropping.
