Stick or twist against Newcastle?

If players are fit I'd go with:

Onana

Dalot
Maguire
Lindelof
Reguilon

Casemiro
Hannibal
Mount

Antony
Hojlund
Garnacho

I would have gone with Mainoo too but doubt he starts after last night. Casemiro to play to try and get some fitness and form. Amrabat in there otherwise. I wouldn't play Varane though as if he can't play too many games close together best keep him for Fulham and Copenhagen. Unless Ten Hag will think it best playing him this midweek and next midweek.

Wouldn't argue against that but I'd like to see Onana continue his better form. Martial is a decent shout I suppose to not overplay Hojlund but I would like to see him break his domestic scoring duck soon. Perhaps as a sub coming on the same time as Rashford to add some pace?

I think its pretty important we give Bayindir some game time before the AFCON (assuming Onana goes). I wouldn't be too comfortable with chucking him straight in after not having a competitive game for 6 months...I'm surprised he didn't play the previous round actually.

Martial I think needs the minutes - plus if he does well I'd consider giving him the next game against Fulham too.

I'd love to see a highly motivated 2nd string.

I expect to see what ETH sees as his stongest line up.

I wouldn't play Bruno or Rashy. Casemiro and Mount definitely. Other than that not too bothered.

I agree he needs games. I just think it could well be in a league game rather than a cup game though. I think ETH will consider this trophy more important than he may have done considering the start to the season we've made.

Such is football though if we did win tonight and Saturday we'll be on a run of five wins from six with only a defeat to City blotting the copybook!

Pellestri!!!!!!

No but seriously, if hes not an idiot, he should repeat the last team at the Palace league cup game. So many reasons can be used. But he wont. He will play the team he thinks is the best one. Because hes an idiot

It's not about resting players, it's about dropping underperforming ones and giving the others a chance. But ETH has lost the plot and won't drop those that need dropping.
