...how overly complicated yesterday match was made to be in the end.
Exceptionally more difficult than It should have been to close out the match and entirely self-inflicted due to subpar decision-making, overhitting simple passes, careless offsides, and selfish nature infront of goal, is my overriding thought.
Spurs personified the term "Play stupid games, Win stupid prizes", and a classic case of https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1721751791359180800/vid/avc1/480x640/AnuOJORF8rxxkMfV.mp4?tag=14
On the other hand, I. Am. Chuffed, chuffed to bits for the much-maligned Hat-trick hero Nico Jackson! -

Becomes part of an exclusive party of three to score hat-tricks against Spurs and first hat-trick against a so-called top 6 side since Eto'o, in the PL.
I approve of the disguise in the final goal to outwit the excellent opposition keeper, that's the sort of ingenuity and composure shown previously.
Requirement for him to be back at the level where he's had one of the best non-penalty goals to games ratio conversion rates in Europe amongst his peers last season (if you take the freak Haaland out of the equation), one of the main reasons why he was bought in the first place. (Will work better in tandem with Nkunku).
Thankless task leading the line for Chelsea and Nico did well in disrupting their backline and being a threat. Largely gets into the right positions to score.
Nico will end up with double figure goals contributions and still be dismissed and lambasted by schmucks with no understanding of talent and development (see inexperienced Tammy aged 21 in debut season as a pertinent example; product of scorn, disdain, slanderous statements, despite scoring 20 goals, 10 in his first 12 including earliest hat-trick scored in a season for Chelsea, best scoring rate of any striker at that age or younger for Chelsea...which is nothing to be scoffed at, especially when we've perpetually struggled to score). https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1722931051419389952/vid/avc1/576x1024/beZpmtHCyUBNtjs1.mp4?tag=14
Poch deserves massive credit for standing by Nico Jackson in turbulent times. Peaks-and-troughs will happen no matter how experienced or inexperienced a player is.
Belief in him will be richly rewarded.
Excruciatingly surreal & mortifying

"Chelsea aren’t very good, this was a poor result for Spurs. I would be surprised if Chelsea pick up more than 4 points in their next 4 matches - in fact I will go on record now and say they absolutely won’t and you can bookmark it."
Heard it all before.
Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs were supposed to "destroy" Chelsea, reality is that never materalised in fact the first two were lucky to escape with a draw (such was our dominance) and Spurs got trounced.
This was without having the full complement of squad to work with, key players unavailable.
The rhetoric that due to perceived "tougher fixtures" team will struggle to perform and pick up lesser points than the "easier run-in" is a fallacy, football just doesnt work that way, never has.
Far too simplistic and quite frankly obtuse way of thinking. Plenty of variables at play and actually I'd argue this current teams strengths and style tend to lend itself better performances & results against the so-called "tougher" sides. This factor is what most fail to comprehend.
Now City are a different challenge but wouldn't be beyond the realms of possiblity, that we give a good account of ourselves and spring a surprise result again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs only had nine men, and two of their best players off the pitch before half time. Don't kid yourself 11 v 11 you would have walked away with even a point, without Spurs realistically losing four of their better players over a 25 minute spell.

JFDI,
Agreed, about the importance of taking the rough with the smooth.
It does actually make the highs a better experience.
But imo,to aire dissatisfaction is not disloyal or showing a lack commitment to the club. Particularly in the digital world we now inhabit It is easier for the supporter voice an opinion , some views make sense and have a point & others are poorly thought out judgments derived from misconception of the reality of what is actually going on at the club.
Its part and parcel of todays world imo, as for the mood at the bridge well ?
I only get to go 4/5 times per season at the moment, every time i go there is a considerable level of apathy and frustration in the air, but you know Cfc have dropped off since prior covid and it has been torrid for numerous reasons.
Boehly- Clearlake coming in you would have thought would have been a breath of fresh air, and you would have also thought then when you commit 4bln to buying a football club , you would have a well thought out plan.
Clearly something the owners did not have.
Clumsily loosing C/L status im sure was not part of the plan imo, then after that they are playing catch up on the hoof.
Removing the away day support travel subsidy imo is inexcusable, considering the staggering level of lossage they have incoured with their footballing strategy.
Imo this type of careless obtruse decision making is at the root of fan dissatisfaction at the bridge.
Going forward, I personally hope that they can continue to trim the squad, retain the right players and add the much needed G/K & Strk, bringing a little more experience, leadership adding strength & depth.
COY Blues!

You started with 11, you only have yourselves to blame you didn't finish with 11.

Apathy at the bridge is an issue an something that frustrates me. If you lack interest or enthusiasm, why even go to a game, do something tmyou can get behind instead and let others enjoy what they love.
Make no mistake, I love Chelsea, it has always been a massive part of my life, it doesn't matter how bad it good we are, I don't care. I support, that isvthe definition of supporter, if I didn't I wouldn't go. I could watch games on TV or via a firestick, I could disect every aspect of the game but I don't, I can't, I just support.

Beginning to see yet how much better we are vs. teams who attack us? And how incredibly foolish you were playing that high line with 9 men against us?
