He didn't outwit the goalkeeper on the third one. Mudryk stupidly didn't time his run right and Jackson got lucky it went past vicario
Tbh Mf, the result is welcomed, but the game did illustrate our numerous short comings.
The squad imo does have plenty of talent, but a significant % of players are far from ready to go toe to toe with an experienced side for 90 minutes.
Every time the team is out played over 90m or by not taking their chances to get the result, the frustration around them from within mounts.
Great confidence booster for Jackson, but he still far away from having the required confidence to be a steady accurate finisher.
Look at the opportunities he fluffs, that is the concern.
Full credit to Jacko, he's gone through a lot and I admit that I was getting slightly peeeed off with him lately, but, lets hope he's back on song.
Same again against City Jacko and I'll smother you with kisses myself !
Chelsea aren’t very good, this was a poor result for Spurs. I would be surprised if Chelsea pick up more than 4 points in their next 4 matches - in fact I will go on record now and say they absolutely won’t and you can bookmark it.
City > 0,
Newcastle> anything between> 0> 1> or 3
Brighton> 0>1> or 3
Utd>0>1>or 3
We are far too inconsistent to be reliable enough to be assured of any points at the moment.
We may win , loose or draw.
Each of the above have got to have a bad day for us to be assured of the points.

We possibly might not, however more astute of us understand that this squad has been assembled with an average age of little more than your local secondary school team, if you take Silva out.
Furthermore I expect that the owners were looking long term rather than immediate success. I reckon there's going to be at least another 18 months of inconsistent performances before we start challenging the top 4 again.
Bookmark that if you like!

We have a young inexperienced team. Fir me every game bow is a learning opportunity and we will gel and improve from them. On a good day we can shake up the top teams as we have done so with Liverpool and Arsenal, at other times we will get done because of our inexperience like we were by West Ham and Brentford but recovery game helps build the team and we will improve.
JFDI,
Yes agreed each game is a learning experience, but up until the game last night Poch was talking about how fragile confidence can be amongst the younger players.
Yes and they can shake it up, but imo, also games can run away from them at the moment, Forest, Villa, Brentford and so on & as you have explained they will learn , but also they have to get over the psychological rollar coaster that they currently inhabit.
Imo this squad will be fit for purpose next season, with the right additions A world class keeper and an experienced 20 goal a season striker to support the attacking options we have available when fully fit.
I personally believe the ownership have made it far more difficult than it should have been.
Look at St James, the goodwill factor is pushing the whole club at ? 1/10 th of the cost todate.
Under the new ownership what goodwill factor have we experienced ?

Heard it all before.
Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs were supposed to "destroy" Chelsea, reality is that never materalised in fact the first two were lucky to escape with a draw (such was our dominance) and Spurs got trounced.
This was without having the full complement of squad to work with, key players unavailable.
The rhetoric that due to perceived "tougher fixtures" team will struggle to perform and pick up lesser points than the "easier run-in" is a fallacy, football just doesnt work that way, never has.
Far too simplistic and quite frankly obtuse way of thinking. Plenty of variables at play and actually I'd argue this current teams strengths and style tend to lend itself better performances & results against the so-called "tougher" sides. This factor is what most fail to comprehend.
Now City are a different challenge but wouldn't be beyond the realms of possiblity, that we give a good account of ourselves and spring a surprise result again.

Precious little good will factor but there are many reasons for that. After the Brentford game my Brentford mate went to the Clarence on North end road, he was pretty tasty back in the day and ran with the Hammerbe lot in Sweden when he lived there. He called me when I was on my way home and told me it was carnage around there, all Chelsea on Chelsea, just because we lost. I have to bite my tongue at times in the ground at some of the comments. Some of our fans are so fickle we these days. Decent results, even lucky ones will help with goodwill. I still maintain if you are a supporter you support, through thick and thin. The excuse, o paid my money, I can tell them what I want doesn't wash with me
If you don't like a poor result, don't go. If you don't embrace the bad times you will never appreciate the good times as much.
As for owners, they do what they feel is best, I firmly believe that Roman would have been aware of their intentions and sold on them when he agreed the sale.
Everyone will pick a reason for our current situation, that could be the government, the manager, the team, the owners, the fans and just about any individual in any of those groups. Truth is it is a bit of everything, there is no easy or instant fix and we have no god given right to be anywhere other than where we are. Hard work, experience, nuturing and investment will improve things and I'm optimistic it won't take us as long as it has taken others.

Spurs only had nine men, and two of their best players off the pitch before half time. Don't kid yourself 11 v 11 you would have walked away with even a point, without Spurs realistically losing four of their better players over a 25 minute spell.
JFDI,
Agreed, about the importance of taking the rough with the smooth.
It does actually make the highs a better experience.
But imo,to aire dissatisfaction is not disloyal or showing a lack commitment to the club. Particularly in the digital world we now inhabit It is easier for the supporter voice an opinion , some views make sense and have a point & others are poorly thought out judgments derived from misconception of the reality of what is actually going on at the club.
Its part and parcel of todays world imo, as for the mood at the bridge well ?
I only get to go 4/5 times per season at the moment, every time i go there is a considerable level of apathy and frustration in the air, but you know Cfc have dropped off since prior covid and it has been torrid for numerous reasons.
Boehly- Clearlake coming in you would have thought would have been a breath of fresh air, and you would have also thought then when you commit 4bln to buying a football club , you would have a well thought out plan.
Clearly something the owners did not have.
Clumsily loosing C/L status im sure was not part of the plan imo, then after that they are playing catch up on the hoof.
Removing the away day support travel subsidy imo is inexcusable, considering the staggering level of lossage they have incoured with their footballing strategy.
Imo this type of careless obtruse decision making is at the root of fan dissatisfaction at the bridge.
Going forward, I personally hope that they can continue to trim the squad, retain the right players and add the much needed G/K & Strk, bringing a little more experience, leadership adding strength & depth.

Apathy at the bridge is an issue an something that frustrates me. If you lack interest or enthusiasm, why even go to a game, do something tmyou can get behind instead and let others enjoy what they love.
Make no mistake, I love Chelsea, it has always been a massive part of my life, it doesn't matter how bad it good we are, I don't care. I support, that isvthe definition of supporter, if I didn't I wouldn't go. I could watch games on TV or via a firestick, I could disect every aspect of the game but I don't, I can't, I just support.

Now City are a different challenge but wouldn't be beyond the realms of possiblity, that we give a good account of ourselves and spring a surprise result again.

"Chelsea aren’t very good, this was a poor result for Spurs. I would be surprised if Chelsea pick up more than 4 points in their next 4 matches - in fact I will go on record now and say they absolutely won’t and you can bookmark it."

You started with 11, you only have yourselves to blame you didn't finish with 11.
