the development of football. We haven't been playing football for 10 years so I think we can safely assume that there has been no football development.

By the way I'm on about the whole structure since 2013. The probability is that it wasn't great before then either but the genius of SAF, with help from Gill, kept it together.

Nobody in their right mind can state we've been run well since then. A grand total of zero title challenges let along titles in the last decade. Most of the time, bar some moments here and there, with pretty forgetful football too. I'll admit to being drawn in to same false dawns myself these past ten years but no more.

It's a bloody shame we've been poor too as had we been good the battle between us and City would have been titanic (1912).

I cant wait for Luton tomorrow.

The slippiest of banana skins United have faced for ages. Losing isnt really an option.

He doesn't dictate tactics ot formation.

He appoints people to assist the football (analysts, coaches, scouts)

Communicates between the different age groups.

Oversees transfer identification, negotiations and sign off.

Oversees the logistics (travel, accommodation, security)

Quite a broad set of responsibilities, but nothing that can be attributed to him alone as failing.
