I've been reading reports today that Everton could face a significant points deduction because of financial irregularities. My first instinct was good, that's a precedent to take forward with City's case.
I then though began to realise that this could mean that City would be stripped of their titles under Pep and those titles then awarded to the teams finishing second. With this being the Pep/Klopp era I thought, oh no, at the prospect of Liverpool surpassing our 20 titles.
However, it's not as clear cut as that and I am resting a bit easier tonight in the knowledge there'd be no change in the current gap.*
17/18 - United second (Jose)
18/19 - Liverpool second (Klopp)
20/21 - United second (Ole)
21/22 - Liverpool second (Klopp)
22/23 Arsenal (after a 19 year wait ) (Arteta)
The totals now being 22 to 21. I really did think though that Klopp would have secured top spot for the team from Merseyside.
*I've decided to count Liverpool's title in 2019/20 even though they changed the rules half way through the season to allow more subs etc. It would be churlish not to.
Everton Stripped? City next perhaps?

They will be fined and that’s that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't believe that will be the outcome personally. Fines against a man worth 40bn+ is going to achieve what? That's not going to put off any further rule breaks. City would gladly take the fines if that was the case and carry on.
I think it will be more severe than fines but it won't be as severe as it should be.
As for Chelsea.....who knows. If they play ball and cooperate then they might get a less severe punishment. Afterall it was Abramovich at the helm not the current owner.
Personally I'd love to see the PL make an example out of both. They have made a mockery of the league for nearly 20 years really between them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At worse an owner had to find ways to push his own money through, because you kuunts the top 3 didn't like a bit of competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Competition? There's no competition against unlimited wealth mate.
City and PSG had 3 league titles BETWEEN them in their entire history prior to the takeovers. It's well over 20 now not so very long after. Is that competitive?
The truth is it should never have got this far. Abu Dhabi shouldn't have been welcomed in to start with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was okay when you, Liverpool and Arsenal scooping up the titles but not okay now, strange how it works.

If they wont relegate these teams for whatever reasons make them start the new season on -43 points. Its up to them then if they make the magic 43 points which is usually enough at the end of the season. Maybe City might even save themselves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it would be fitting to start them on -115 points. The number of charges, plus would guarantee relegation on negative points even if they won every game.

No just shady offshore payments to managers and players and falsified sponsorship deals to make sure you can have the best team in the land......much better that Boris. đ
Imagine being owned by one of the richest men on the planet who for which money is no issue but still have to resort to cheating to comply with rules you agreed to adhere by.
Rui Pinto.... He's the real Portuguese Magnifico.
