Can't see us winning either of our last 2 tbh, which would most likely leave us 4th

This. Not meaning to make negative predictions but I'd be gobsmacked if we won either game.

Do you guys realize that we need the revenue from either competition? We are already at the FFP limit and any additional income will help.

There's not a great deal of revenue from playing a few rounds of Europa League football. Granted it's more than nothing at all but that won't even touch the sides.

And if we are being ultra positive and we managed to come 2nd....how long do you expect us to stay in the competition? Could well be a last 16 exit given we'd face a group winner which isn't much more revenue for the club anyway.

There's not a great deal of revenue from playing a few rounds of Europa League football. Granted it's more than nothing at all but that won't even touch the sides.

Very few top sides in Europe right now.

If we do go through our potential opponents can be and are in some cases highly unlikely to be

Real Madrid or Napoli
Lens or PSV
Real Sociedad or Inter
Atletico, Lazio or Feyenoord
Dortmund, PSG or Milan
Leipzig
Porto, Barca or Shaktar

Other than Real and Barca who are both still a shadow of past sides and maybe PSG on their day there really isn’t a lot to greatly fear in the CL.

Having said that we are struggling in a group with Gala and Copenhagen.

The fact we don’t seem able to even make it into that list is a stark reminder of where we are at

If we win by one goal and draw vs Bayern, with the assumption that Copenhagen or Gala win in the final game,

We’d have a situation where we’re level on points and H2H results (inc goals for and against) with Gala/ Copenhagen.

Who would qualify?

A win v Gala and draw v Bayern would take us to seven points and, at worst, a GD of -1. Because we've scored quite a few then Gala would have to win their final game by at least 3 goals and Copenhagen by at least 2 goals (unless they're involved in high scoring games). If we beat Gala by two then a draw v Bayern means we'd finish above them on head to head.

To me the Gala game seems very pivotal. We've been poor away from home under Ten Hag in the tough grounds so we could really do with reversing that fortune this week.

The spanner in the works, of course, would be Copenhagen getting something v Bayern!
