Top of the League + Top of the Group

Can't really ask for more at this point in the season. Especially given our injury list.

The football isnt so exciting in the league, but we've shown in the Champions league that if teams try to play us, we can cause a lot of damage.

Onto the December Rush

Yeah, we've had players coming back recently. What I should have said was our injuries throughout the season.

The season started with Martinelli hammy. Followed by a serious injury to Jesus. Then Saka with a hammy followed by Odegaard hip injury.

How many games have Marti, Havertz, Jesus, Saka and Odegaard started to form an understanding?

Think yesterday was the first game they all started together.

The injury to timber was the one that really deflated me, right at the start of the season. Plays like an absolute baller, was really looking forward to seeing how he fitted in.

QF exit and 3rd place finish - it’s inevitable
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobody asked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just doing you guys a service, you were giddy last year then got knocked out of Europa and blew the title with a home draw to Southampton, a loss away at Forest and by finally being forced to play Man City.

It will be similar this year, so lower expectations now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Obviously a few will get carried away but the general feeling amongst Arsenal fans is that we look solid albeit are lacking a cutting edge. I don't think the giddiness of last year is evident this year as we look more functional rather than vibrant.

Last year felt more like a title charge as we were playing great football with a young team and flew out of the blocks. As someone else said, we look different this season, more mature. It might not be enough to win the league but following up on last season with another top 3 finish and a QF CL exit is hardly a disaster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It’s going backwards though, from 2nd to third?

At some point City will put 10,11,12 wins together and the rest of the league will fall behind and not recover - it’s what they do everytime, they are amazing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Technically yes but it sustains our position as ome of the top clubs in the league whilst balancing the CL. City will probably win it but it could come down to small margins between us and Liverpool and it doesn't necessarily make us a worse team if we finish 3rd.

That's not at all guaranteed. They don't have gundogan or mahrez or de bryne for that matter, and it shows because Haaland is scoring fewer goals. Will it improve when de bryne returns? Quite possibly. But I think mahrez and gundogan were crucial last season, chipping in when the defences were focused on Haaland so it won't be the same. Alverz and Foden are not on the same level.

I think you might win the league this season

I think Liverpool will.

I think people are underestimating how difficult four in a row will be for City, especially coming off the back of a treble. When you mix that with losing experienced players who turned up in big moments, there's bound to be a small drop off in their standards. It just depends if anyone is good enough to capitalize on that, which is still difficult bar to beat cos City off form are still remarkable.
