Good evening.
Am I alone in thinking that a better keeper could've done more with all 3 goals we conceded yesterday?
I know we were poor in multiple areas, and a better defence could've stopped the impending doom, but you expect your keeper to make basic saves sometimes.
His reaction time is so slow for a professional keeper.
If we were to compare his reflexes on a scale on 1 to 10 with de gea, I'd say de gea was a 9 and onana is a 3.
Quite often he reacts almost a second too slow. Even when he dives the correct way, the way he positions his arms are completely wrong, meaning even if he reacted much faster, then he wouldn't have saved the shot anyway because his hands / arms are either over or under the ball.
When he does save a shot, it often goes into the danger area, giving the opposition a potential opportunity to immediately attack again.
His kicking is poor, which is apparently what he is supposed to be amazing at.
I'm failing to see any plus points with this guy. He's not a young keeper, so it's not like he's going to change his ways is it? One can hope.
I think he's one of the worst keepers we've had, so far, and he needs to be dropped ASAP. Maybe after some time away, he'd be better when coming back.
SAF dropped De gea when he first joined because he had multiple howlers.

Who's blaming onana for the first goal you old goat?
For someone so smart, you clearly have issues reading.
….
I never said anyone blamed Onana for the first goal. You may well be the one with reading issues.

I literally replied to your post with you saying exactly that.

Now read the first bit again and try to understand the short words. Any you have trouble with let me know.

I reckon someone like Alisson might save the second one. But he’d have no chance with the other two. They are excellent finishes that leave a keeper with no chance.

The second one, for sure. It was terrible keeping.
The first one, watch onanas technique or whatever you want to call it.
He falls sort of backwards and attempts to save the ball with a barely extended leg.
The technique is really poor. A superior keeper I think would have kept that out.
His issue is he's stood on the spot, and doesn't really anticipate what is coming. We've a handful of conceded goals as evidence where he does similar things.

To blame Onana for the first goal smacks of idiocy on steroids.

Tbf, it does look like you’re suggesting someone has actually said it. It’s a bit of a pointless thing to type otherwise.

Onana probably isn't good enough for us to get to where we need to be, but he also isn't out biggest issue.
He will cost us points, with his seemingly regular clangers, but if we can improve our ability to play out the back and start to control more games, he will be less exposed, thus reducing his number of mistakes.

The second reminded me in a way of Palace's winner: I wouldn't necessarily blame Onana, but something about the way he dived/the position of his arms suggested to me that he wouldn't have kept it out even if he'd got there.

Yeah, he was a really weird technique. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks it.

Onana is even more error prone than De Gea with less talent.
275k a week less wages though.
