A left field choice as the next manager. He does what we all crave and gets sides playing good football. Was very highly rated but had a bit of a speed bump at Everton (in the second season) and had to rebuild his rep at Fulham where he made them a free flowing goal scoring side in the Championship. They’re going along nicely in the PL now and are scoring lots of goals too and that’s with the likes of Willian, Iwobi and Pereira in the attack.
I wouldn’t mind him being given a chance as the next manager. Anyone else on the Silva train?
Marco Silva

I think we need a proper 'man manager' who really knows how to communicate with his players. From days gone by, figures like Big Ron from the 80s, Bobby Robson, Terry Venables, even Harry Redknapp. Just try to create a decent atmosphere at the club.
You could say that Ang has had that effect at Spurs, Unai at Villa also, but for me, that's the type of guy we need. Who knows if Silva can do that also. I just feel that ETH doesn't have it in him to be that type of manager, it's not within his make-up

If only Everton had stuck with Silva when he had that "bump" in his second season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes managers have to walk away when things are dire and start again. Will probably be good for
Ten Hag to try again somewhere else. Losing 7 games at home by December should be a sackable offence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walk away
Silva didn't walk away he was sacked
Maybe the lesson was that Everton should have stuck with him given how highly rated you say he was
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps but you can lose multiple games at a club like Everton and it isn’t anywhere near as damaging as losing them at United. Do you honestly think Ten Hag still has the players and can turn this around?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He lost his job at Everton for losing multiple games so i would say it was pretty damaging
Do you honestly think because he's won a few games with Fulham and kept them in the PL he is now utd manager material
As for Ten Hag turning it around I'm facked if I know but I'd rather see the back of most of these players at this stage. It's hard to see him surviving beyond the weekend. If he does I think he should be given the rest of the season to try turn it around.

Im not sure I can make a compelling case for anyone as the next United manager but Silva has been highly rated for a while and plays good football. I did say in the OP it was a left field choice but if he did come in with low expectations and got us playing good stuff it would already be an improvement on what we’re seeing.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Sancho might actually thrive under a different manager.

Whilst your reading of the tea leaves is generally poor, I can’t help but wonder if Sancho’s preference to video games has been helped along by having to watch Antony from the bench.

He is definitely first choice after Fulham's last couple of results. But if Fulham lose to Newcastle at the weekend then he should be nowhere near the list. How about Kompany if they beat Everton? Burnley recently smashed 5 past Sheff U. Could be a left field candidate?

Giggs is surely the left field candidate.

I don't like the football he plays, but the onlyvrealmoption mid season is Conte. Potter can't fix this, and the rest aren't the type to jump ship when the teams are doing well, even for United.
Conte can handle the egos, will get them playing hard or drop them, he's a serial winner, is free right now, and would not shy away from critsizing the club management.

Ole was a better suggestion

I highly doubt we'd improve in the long term under Marco Silva. As for bloody Sancho, the man is a total waster. He has no top level future at any club under any manager
