Kobbie Mainoo

How good is he, how far can he go.
I thought he was excellent last night, and he fills a position we needed filling. Who do we think should be his partner if we are going to have a two man midfield, my guess would be Casemiro.
I don't know if he is ready to play every game, but cannot be far off.

Whatever we think of ETH, he does like to promote, he gives minutes to begin and to assess if they or ready or good enough.
It's a United tradition that I'm glad is still on-going.

When we see Erik's dream midfield pairing of Mount and Mainoo we'll start to dominate English football again

Regardless, he’s not doing well enough, but I don’t think EtH has been able to play his first team once this season has he?

Newcastle manager should be in tears. Injuries are a normal thing.

Newcastle are in even worse form than we are because of their injuries. It’s not normal to get this many.

They are normal but they do have an impact as we can also see with Newcastle

We should all know that players whose talent stands out at that age sometimes regress, sometimes surge. For that reason, I'm not too fixated on how good he will be, and what his final destination as a United player is. But for me his emergence has been the single most enjoyable thing about our season so far, and I really hope he continues to grow as a player (and matures into a well balanced adult). He's so technically assured, which must help his self-confidence when on the ball, and his calmness and the maturity of his decision making really impress me. He rarely looks rushed, even when receiving the ball under pressure. And he often uses that calmness to evaluate different passing possibilities in his own time (if the early pass isn't on). I only read about the concept of 'biomechanics' in sport quite recently, but I'd suggest Mainoo is biomechanically (is that a word?) elite: really good at achieving a range of passing angles without having to make big adjustments to body position.

Yeah agree with this. Hojlund is the only other one that I’m specifically watching with interest.

True but we still see the managers intent and expectations. That's the difference between most teams going it and ETH.

In all seriousness, there obviously isn't much you can take from yesterday's game, but I was very impressed with the way he handled himself physically. Bullied the Wigan midfielders at times. For someone who looks fairly slight, he is deceptively strong.

We've seen far too many false dawns for me to get overly excited at this point - but I will say in terms of raw talent he's one of the best prospects to come out of the academy in a while. In the last couple of decades its probably only Greenwood who has made the transition to the first team as comfortably. And, going back to my original point - he is incidentally the best example of talent not being the be all and end all.

There’s a lot you can take from the game. Rasmus stinking the joint, Rashford could not beat a league one defender. In midfield with Mcshiiit and Bruno, he did all the work defensively. There’s a LOT to take from that game believe you me
