The usual excuses.

No good business to be done in January

Always the loan window

Better to save our money till summer

The usual excuses from fans or clubs when we do eff all in Jan window.

It concerns me that we keep hearing FFP excuses, we've got no money, we have all these loan players (weren't people saying loaning these players out was great idea!)

We are biggest revenue generating club in division, we have supposedly hugely wealthy owners, yet we never seem to have any money.....hmmm.

BBC have announced that Roberts has signed for us at 11.15pm.....It seems everything was done and dusted 4 or 5 hours ago but Leeds weren't allowed to say anything until Burnley had signed a replacement which means had Burnley not signed a replacement the Roberts deal could have fallen through but thankfully we have a new Welsh international right back.

Sky announced the signing of Assignon at 22.15, why did it take us another hour? Just watched poor Connor standing shivering on the terraces.

Sorry to break the cycle of gloom, doom, misery and despair, but I thought that was quite a good window by our standards. Good to see the old Jonty back in top form, though

Very happy about Roberts signing. And very happy we
didn't lose any of our stars or regulars. But we lost quite
a few squad members and didn't replace them. IMO,
big gamble. However, it's done now. Onward.

Poor window. Just shows how crucial summer recruitment is when we're this ineffective in January. We haven't weakened, we've just stood completely still and are banking on players keeping fit.

As Batty says, its done and time to get cracking.

I'm a little disappointed in Poveda leaving. I thought he was a good player to have around the squad.

Good to get Roberts through the door last night. Glad to have kept all players we wanted to keep too. We reallyare depending on a few players pivotal to our system to stay fit whose Leeds career history suggests they won't and need what depth we have in an attacking sense to recapture their form (Gnonto).

The standards this season are looking like c93+ points needed to get top 2 maybe more so it is going to take one heck of a run in from us.

McGurk gone too to Swindon. You wonder if any of our current crop of youngsters will make it.

Re youngsters, same every year, people think they're going to set the world alight and then they exit cheaply.

Remember Lewis Bate being described as a generational talent?

Poveda was all that was wrong with Orta, another inbound who everyone hyped up because of where he's played as a junior, yet had more clubs than hot dinners, clearly an issue.

We've had so many of these you lose count, but they each cost teh club time and resources ion scouting, contract negotiations, training, physio and wages physio and deprive a home grown youngster of a place.

It's still going to take a couple of years to unwind the Orta mess.

So what is that 7/8 outbounds and one inbound loan.

We're told only going to sign players that are better than what we have, so, what does this mean for Gray, that he will now be dropped for Roberts?

Personally I think we need a dedicated right back and think that this should be good signing.

^^^

Not sure what fee he left for but, McGurk is a surprise.
For me at least. Few weeks back I read that he was
starting to turn first team staffers heads. Obviously not.

U21s look weaker the day after the window's shut. So
does the youth set up. Outside of Archie, it seemed
Finley Gorman was the other jewel. And he's gone too.

Overall, the club is weaker today across the board.
And I include first team squad in that. Although adding
Roberts was solid. And keeping our stars was key.

Weird window for us and everyone else. Thanks Orta.
