Man Utd's Ratcliffe wants 'national stadium in north' - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68361025
I am of the opinion that while Old Trafford is iconic and known throughout the world.. it's time that a club of our history and historic reputation looks to build a new stadium.
Our Theatre of Dreams is amazing and a 100 years old, but how much longer can it go on for?
I feel like a new stand or refurbishment is kind of trying to delay the inevitable.
If he comes in and builds us a new theatre worthy of United and nothing else I would consider Ratcliffe's legacy a positive one.
I'd be in support of a new stadium being built for us.
What say you?
A national stadium in the North

Payback for what exactly?

Play a season in Dubai whilst OT was being rebuilt - would recoup the outlay immediately

If United did rebuild, where could they play during construction? (minimum 2 years)
Not in Liverpool. Not at City. Not at Leeds. Sheffield? Stoke?

Use Goodison when Everton move out
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If its anything like N London, then Arseanl and Spurs never play home at the same time.
I'd guess, but dont know that LFC and EFC do the same.
You couldnt have United at home (@ Goodison) while LFC play at home. Could you have EFC @ home and Utd @ home at the same time?
Would you want disgruntled or joyous manc marching through the steets of Liverpool after a game? Asking for trouble?
Logistically tricky.

As SE85 said I don't think this would be an issue. But if it was I reckon somewhere like Bolton would probably be most likely.
(And their ground is now literally called tough sheet stadium which is great)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say that a whole new stadium is not possible next to the old, especially if you are increasing capacity.
At Spurs we built next door while retaining & using most of WHL but when that went as far as it could, we had to move to Wembley for 2 seasons while the old stadium was taken down to make room for the new.
There will always bee a need for Unite to relocate temporarily, even if it is a new stadium next door.
The only way this is avoided is if its a different site altogether

Bolton will be a 50K hit to your attendances and pocket Thats a 70m hit right there, per season !
We went to Wembley and set the highest recorded PL attendance of 85,500

Also the lowest attendances in modern times for Men’s football. Record numbers of empty seats.
And I don’t just mean when you were losing at Three Point Wembley

This boy has small-man and small-stadium syndrome.
To complete the hattrick, he's probably also got a tiny too
