Just trying to clarify a matter of refereeing protocol.
When a player goes down with a ‘head injury’, i understand that the referee is obliged to stop the game, no problem with that.
What is the protocol for how the referee re-starts the game.
Today in the Forest v Liverpool game, Forest played a ball into the Liverpool box, Konate, challenged for the ball, then went down holding his head.
The ball broke to a Forest player in a dangerous position on the left.
Paul Tierney then looked across, saw Konate still down holding his head, he blew his whistle to halt play, no problem.
As soon as Konate realised Tierney had blown up, he rubbed his head, and immediately got to his feet, ensuring he didn’t need medical attention, and thus have to leave the field.
Tierney, acknowledged Konate, then instead of giving the ball back to Forest in the position they had it when he stopped play, he gave it to the Liverpool keeper to re-start the game.
Is the restart at the ref’s discretion, or is there a protocol that should be followed. ??
It may sound like a whinge from a losing fan, but it is a reasonable question. I genuinely don’t know the answer, but would like to be enlightened, ideally by a knowledgeable fan or official.
Thanks in advance.
What is the protocol ??

Ha! He was clearly saying that your comment was unnecessary.
A despicable individual?
Wow. You are really in a mess, aren’t you? Calm down, angry man. You always have the option of not seeking out confrontation.
Maybe give it a go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And you have the option of not constantly making things up, intentionally baiting people to ensure you can stay online longer and so on…..

Reasonable photo of the high foot. Amazing really, that the ref thought it’s acceptable to go into a group of players like that.

Baiting people?
No. You had absolutely no need to reply to my comments on several threads over the last couple of days. They weren’t baiting anyone. You just chose to do it because you want to seek out an argument.
The live thread example yesterday is a classic example - everyone else was fine and you came along to cause a problem where there wasn’t one.
I’ve no idea why you are so angry about me. You’re an odd individual, permanently angry.
I’d look at that, if I were you.

There’s no problem with people reacting more vociferously when their own team is affected by a mistake.
The problem for me comes when there’s an inability to view the incident objectively and further, when it leads to claims of corruption / bias.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s funny how it’s always Liverpool fans that are the problem. The reaction of oppo fans for anything involving Liverpool is ridiculous, far outstrips reactions to any other team.

Zero contact made though, do you think overhead/bicycle kicks or flying volleys should be outlawed just in case there may be contact?

Completely different, he was trying to win the ball not volley the ball at goal. Please don’t tell me you can’t see the difference?
It’s also irrelevant if contact was made, but you know that as well, don’t you? Come on Boris, you’re better than this!

I’m not pretending. It’s weird to accuse me of it. Hardly like I’m posting about it all over the forum. Only said it because someone asked me.
Here’s a tip: try not to judge other people based on your own character. When you accuse people of lying you tend to reveal more about yourself than anything else.
Interesting you didn’t answer why you’re not out tonight. Oddball.

I have no problem with a replay. We didn't boost our goal difference enough.
