It feels like “social media" Chelsea would accept any opportunity to blame Pochettino for everything from the Assassination of JFK to the real reason Russia invaded the Ukraine.
I’m currently still very much “Poch in." And I have my reasons:
I don’t think another coach even unemployed or soon to be unemployed Champions League winning coaches have this exact squad doing any better.
The problems were there staring us in the face before Potter was sacked let alone Pochettino hired. Until they’re fixed, we won’t see any real progress.
Poch keeps getting hit with the stick (by our own fans) he’s got a billion-pound squad, they should be getting better. Stupidity is not a reason why we should be doing better. What do I mean by that? We massively overpaid on about 99% of the signings under this ownership. Baldrick spent 400k on a turnip FFS, doesn’t mean the turnip was worth it. Crude analogy but I hope you get my point.
The squad lacks serious leaders and experience.
The team lacks cutting edge. You could point out I’m talking out of my Ar$e, but I think if we had a capable goal scorer in the starting 11 dating back to last August, then we win at least 4-5 of the games we got zero points from. I refer to Forest, Brentford (at home) Wolves away and Villa. And probably/possibly West Ham and Pool (first game of season)
I am not going to try and convince myself let alone Chelsea fans that Pochettino is completely blameless. I can’t. But I do think a lot of Chelsea particularly on social media want to hate him cos of his previous job in England, the fact that he’s only ever won for PSG where he “should win" and
“We’re Chelsea!! Winning is in our DNA!!"
I personally think that last statement I see a lot of our fans peddle, is total bollox. And to take it a step further I think people who genuinely believe that might as well subscribe to the rival fans’ drivel of “Chelse were formed in 2003." Because the facts are until 1997, we’d not won a meaningful trophy in 26 years and that win became our 5th meaningful trophy. No disrespect to Batesy’s Full Members Cup 😊 Chelsea was 92 years old in 1997. Winning was most definitely not a part of our DNA. That’s not me having a dig at our club, I just call a shovel a shovel. I loved Chelsea when they didn’t win things, I love them now. But I won’t airbrush our history and those failures, the “giant killings" in the 80s and early 90s made our successes sweeter for me.
I just don’t think changing the head coach changes anything unless the owners invest in their philosophy. The owners on face value look decent, but I believe they’ve been the main problem, along with their recruitment team. Perhaps it will pay off, but I struggle to see how they are the recruitment team could not see that the team was crying out for a goal scorer.
I do have faith that Jackson will find his feet and his goalscoring touch. But it won’t be this season. And I’d be fine with that if I didn’t think Poch would pay the price for others' failures.
Are you Pochettino in or Pochettino out?

I'm not actively Poch out because yeah I think our issues go far beyond the manager, but I wouldn't shed a tear if he was removed.

There are reports that Chelsea have failed in an approach for Girona coach Michel to replace Poch.

Flash - nice to see you back on here
I have been quite critical of Poch.... Frankly I've seen little to deter me from that thought
Getting rid of him now serves absolutely no purpose though

And following on from that who do we actually get in that we can afford or that can do the job

Following on,
As Flash & JW have flagged sacking Poch comes with clear issues.
Who is out there of any real calibre who will be able & prepared to come to CFC and work with the ownerships current strategy?
I think this is a significant problem.
Can the club afford to continue to develop the squad and pay out Poch & his backroom staff simultaneously ??
These are real questions that will influence the decision making.
I worry that the ownership will make another knee jerk decision and further dig the whole they have put the club in deeper, by bringing another manager who is even less able than Poch & his back room team.
But Poch imo must start show that he is coaching these players in away that shows progression, individually and as a cohesive unit, for him to justify his position.

I think it's fair to say that we have potential coming out of our ears...what we actually need is a genuine goal threat (Jackson might be that) Nkunku as well.
The never ending saga of injuries is MASSIVE as these crocked players are getting more & more isolated from day to day training..Fofana & Lavia have barely featured this season.
Poch needs to up his game during games too....far too reactive at times...& not nearly animated enough at times either...this translates to players..ok maybe not quite the absolute fit that Tuchel was prone to having..that's too far...but more than current i'd say

G'day Frankie, yeah it's been a little while. It's just felt like our fanbase has been fairly toxic on Social Media, so I took myself away from it.
How's thee? I've fallen in love with a Steam Deck (nostalgia phase ongoing) and have discovered a website that has some of my favourite comics and annuals available in digital downloads.
Are you Poch in or out?

Good to hear it Flash. Don't blame you at all re social media. Toxic is about right. Never tried a Steam Deck, sounds fun.
I don't really have much of an opinion on Poch because our problems are so much bigger than the head coach. Unless the owners start to get things right with recruitment as well as our constant ridiculous injuries then any manager will have little bearing I fear.
Will sacking Poch improve any of those deep lying problems ? No. Is Poch the right man for us? We're such a mess it's difficult to know. I do know that things can get worse though if the club don't start operating properly.
When I hear rumours about the likes of Eddie Howe coming in I do get very concerned.

The players seem to trust Poch so he should be allowed to continue his work with the squad - I reckon for another season, and after that get someone else in to turbo-charge what should be a settled team.
Although MP's tactics/game management skills are very questionable, I think the team can eventually develop its own mentality - they generally seem to fight for each other, and seem to have the characteristics of a leader in the 'Rudiger-ish' Disasi.
All the pessimism isn't helpful - yes clearly there are some issues, but generally it's not so bad I think. There are plenty of of good signs, so let's get behind 'the project' and invest in some uplifting optimism for a change.
