Leicester Charged

Leicester City have been charged with Breaking profit and Sustainability Rules while in the Premier League and Failing to provide Audited Accounts to the Premier league.

Looks like we won't be getting 2 points back for compliance

Lets get up first then we'll no doubt be starting with a negative tally, will just make the job all the harder.

We knew it was coming and if guilty need to just accept the decision and move on.

Backing Brendan Bodgers just doesn't stop giving but at least the Cvnt is someone else's headache now.

Fine margins and blinkered thinking cost them big time.

Tielemans being dog tird and the mis management of him refusing to sign a contract wrecked the 'sell em big' scheme we had working so well.

Then we had players discarded by the Cvnt in charge who blamed everyone but himself making them unsellable and the house of cards collapsed as their contracts ran down, Soyuncu being the biggest sign of this.

Yeah they made a real misstep with the contracts they handed out. I think they got a bit carried away with competing at the higher end of the table, which is kind of understandable, but when you didn’t have the revenues to consistently compete with the big boys it looks like a daft decision. Shame as I’ve a soft spot for Leicester since they got promoted, and because Arro is a legend.

It’s all Brenda’s fault. The guy sold the board a dream and they bought it. He’s one of the biggest conmen in football.

Getting serious now, EFL having a go as well and Leicester taking Legal proceedings against both Leagues.

Will little old Leicester beat the big boys again at their own game?

The Club further notes that at 4pm today the EFL issued a public notification that LCFC has been placed under a registration embargo pursuant to its P&S rules. The EFL is aware that LCFC has disputed the EFL’s entitlement to impose this constraint, which is both restrictive and premature, with more than a quarter of the Club’s 2023/24 reporting period remaining.

Sounds like the EFL have been encouraged to do something now the EPL have charged us.

We normally post our Accounts early March but this Year have delayed them to the End of March, playing games with the Leagues or delaying the inevitable.

As far as Leagues go, not sure they always have their Ts crossed and Is dotted so to speak and their could be legal issues with their actions.

At the end of the day though we need to take our punishment if it's due and move on.

Sure but it's a dumb move to try the legal squirming route when it's likely to end up with a harsher punishment

The Club seem pretty sure of their Legal standing, it looks like it’s more about the Timing of the Leagues actions not necessarily squirming out of the actual default.

They are squirming legally whatever their justification, it means we are highly unlikely to get any mitigation applied if we end up with a points deduction - which was reported to have reduced Forest's initial punishment of 6 points to 4 for their 'cooperation'.

Not the same issues, they’ve charged us in advance of our accounts being published, that is the issue and they seem to think we are under the same obligation as Premier League Clubs to have provided them by December 31, we are not because we are not a Premier Club and they changed the rules after we left the Premier League.

We’re not arguing innocence, just the legalities of the charges and that shouldn’t have any bearing on the independent commission.

The EFL have also already proven to be wrong, the reporting Season for them isn’t even here yet as the Club pointed out.
