Partey or Jesus. Both are talked about in the media and by some fans as if they are elite players but they are average at best, and usually much worse than that

Partey isnt average, very good player if not Rice/Odegaard level when fit. Super all rounder - strong, quick for a bigger guy, good at passing, tackling, heading and shooting. Basically a mix of Rice&Odegaard whilst not excelling at anything like they do at each end of the spectrum.

Seriously? Partey’s “quick”?!! He runs like he’s towing a caravan. A “mix of Rice & Odegaard” … eh? He’s nothing like Odegaard, who’s an AM all day long … and Rice is an absolute box-to-box CM who offers plenty offensively. Partey’s a DM end of. He offers nothing in an attacking sense, and can’t stay fit either. Apart from that …

Agree with you on most things Strike, but I think you're wrong on Romero. I think he's been top class this year. He's a cultured defender and his ability to pass through the lines the way he does from deep is astounding for a centre half. I think VDV tends to get all the plaudits because his pace on the transition gets more noticed but I think Romero has gone under the radar this year. I know we've conceded a lot but I think that comes down more to not having a capable 6 to mop up well enough. They're told to play risky football without any protection. Thats not on Romero.

The one I would nominate is Richy. I've seen enough of him to know that he's a very limited player, more suited to an Everton than a Spurs. His first touch is an insult to his nation's pedigree and his scoring record isn't and has never been anything but mediocre. Haaland is a limited player on the ball but his finishing and ability to find space is so feckin brilliant, it doesn't really matter. In the absence of any great technical ability and first touch, I'd want Richy to be pretty lethal in front of goal. He's not. He's 27 years old, has been a Prem player for about 7-8 years and has a career high of 13 Prem goals in one season. 60 feckin million.

He's just a shiiiithouse that runs about a bit and occasionally knocks the ball in the net. Yet many Spurs fans think he's great. I just can't see it. I pity him for his mental fragilities of late but that's not a reason to keep someone with limited ability at the club. I'd sell this summer personally.

he's a much better CF than Son. much better feel for the position. actually occupies CBs, plays on the shoulder, holds up the ball.

Agree. Maddision has been this season's failure.

Also, Romero is not over-rated.He and VDV play well together.
As for him being injured, so has VDV been injured.

Worrying isn’t it - you reckon VDV and Romero have played well together and I’m sure you think Udogie is a good player. I’m sure you rate Vic as well.

Yet we have conceded 58 goals so far this season and shipped 63 last year - this will be our second season in a row where we conceded more than fecking Everton and yet would you swap anyone from their side for ours?

So why do we concede so many despite having such great defenders?

well last season we were awful, lloris was a hologram in goal, dier was in horrendous form etc
